© The Chickasha Express-Star Tuesday, 26 September 2006 Rachel Mary [Hendrix] Morrison Funeral service for Rachel Mary Morrison, 92, of Amber, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Rachel Mary Morrison was born February 21, 1914 in Whitebread, Oklahoma (near Gracemont) the daughter of J. P. and Laura [Scott] Hendrix and died September 25, 2006 in Chickasha. She and Ray Morrison were married March 11, 1932 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. They moved to Amber February 16, 1949 from Anadarko. She and her husband had a dairy and farmed in the Caddo County and Amber Communities. Mrs. Morrison played the piano at the Amber Mission for many years. She worked as a nurses aid at Grady Memorial Hospital. She was active at the Sunrise Baptist Church. Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by: parents; her husband: Ray Morrison in 1987; two brothers: Barney Hendrix, R. G. Hendrix; two sisters: Bessie Patton, Lavada Murray. Survivors include: one daughter: Jerilyn Morrison of Oklahoma City; two sons and their wives: Kenneth and Ola Morrison of Amber, Oklahoma; Galen and Malinda Morrison of Minco, Oklahoma; two brothers: Joe Hendrix of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Charles Hendrix of Checotah, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Lynny Baker, Michael Morrison, Danny Morrison, and Reginia Blaine; eight great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko, under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. |
