Floyd Grover Kidwell
Aug. 14, 1922 - Feb. 2, 2012

Funeral service for Floyd Grover Kidwell, age 89 of Verden will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 in the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Taylor will officiate.

Floyd Grover was born the son of Phillip and May Kidwell on Aug. 14, 1922 in Frederick. He died on Feb. 2, 2012 in Oklahoma City.

He married Lennie James Brake who preceded him in death in 1966. He later married Ersel M. Brown on Nov. 26, 1969. She preceded him in death in 2010.

Floyd grew up in Frederick and entered the United States Army during World War II. After being discharged from the Army, he began working in the oilfield as a seismograph driller. He lived many places following the oilfield and eventually moved to Verden where he began raising cattle. Floyd lived in Verden for over 40 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and May Kidwell, two brothers, Phillip and Russell Kidwell and one son, Floyd Dale Kidwell.

Survivors include daughter: Beverly Hughes; two grandchildren: Jim Hughes and Brenda Martin; two step-grandchildren: Kevin Brown and Jody Brown; four great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
