Wednesday, June 2, 2010 Robert Lee Jone Graveside funeral services for Robert Lee Jones, 61, of Verden will be held at 3:30p.m. Friday, June 4, at Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko with Verden First United Methodist Church Pastor Charles Watson, officiating and Bob Dodson assisting. He was born Sept.20, 1948, in Anadarko to Jesse Lee and Geneva Irene (Hervey) Jones, and passed from this life on Monday, May 31, 2010, at his home in Verden. Mr. Jones grew up in Anadarko and Chickasha, and finished school in California. He worked in the oil field for a few years, and also worked at Chickasha Mobile Homes, but mostly he farmed. He and the former Barbara Belcher were married and enjoyed 43 years together. He enjoyed fishing, Hunting and talking with his buddies on the CB radio, where he was known as "Gold Bricker". Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Annette Christine Jones, and one brother, Bennie Jones. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home in Verden; two daughters, Donna Jewel Jones of Verden and Malinda Sue Lail and her husband Steven of Chickasha; three grandsons, Blake Aaron Lail of Chickasha, Travis Lee Callahan and wife Debra of Amber and Jonathan Leon Jones of Chickasha; three great-grandsons: one brother, Dan Jones and wife Pat of Amer, one sister, Janice Lockhart and partner Teresa of Anadarko; several nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law, including his special sister-in-law Nancy Cox of Midland , Texas; other relatives and many friends. Viewing until 5 p.m. Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday at Steverson Funeral Home in Anadarko> |
