© The Chickasha Express-Star Tuesday, 29 August 2006 Beverly [Jones] Johnson Services for Beverly [Jones] Johnson, 65, of Anadarko were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 28 at the First Baptist Church in Anadarko with the Rev. Randy Robertson officiating. Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 19, 1941 to A.D. and Beatrice [Jackson] Jones in Coal County and was called home by the Lord Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at the Physicians' Hospital in Anadarko. She was preceded in death by her father. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Anadarko High School with the class of 1959 and attended one year at Murray State College. She retired from Fort Cobb State Park after 23 years of devoted service as UPC Unit Corporation Manager. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved family gatherings. She enjoyed going to auctions with Melvin King, who was her faithful companion and best friend. Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe. She had made a profession of her faith in Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her companion and best friend, Melvin King, of Anadarko; her mother, Beatrice Glover of Anadarko; one son, Frank Johnson Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Colbert; one daughter, Lisa Johnson Billy and her husband, Phillip, of Purcell; four grandchildren, Cole Samuel Johnson, Marsheli Billy, Nahini Billy, and Anoli Billy; one brother, Arnold Sonny Jones and his wife, Betty,of Verden; four sisters, Recia Orme and her husband Bobby, of Anadarko; Christine Upton and her husband, Joe, of Apache; Carolyn Glidewell and her husband, Jimmy, of Anadarko; and Glenda Roddy and her husband, Ken, of Fort Cobb; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Burial was held in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Anadarko. |
