© Clinton Daily News Clinton, OK February 18, 2006 Virgil LaWayne Holcomb Rites slated for Virgil Holcomb Funeral services for Virgil LaWayne Holcomb, age 54 of Weatherford, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Greater First Baptist Church in Anadarko with A.G. Burris officiating. Holcomb died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford. He was born to Harry Lee and Virginia (Baucom) Holcomb, Sr. on Oct. 30, 1951, in Anadarko. He was reared and attended school in Weatherford and was active in track during high school, graduating in 1970. Holcomb went on to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State University for a year. He had been a cook for the Mark Restaurant, K-Bobs and Cherokee Restaurant before later working with Axtell Roofing. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford.Survivors include his mother, Virginia Holcomb of Weatherford; his father, Harry Holcomb, Sr. of Watonga; one daughter, Shauna Young of Midwest City; two brothers, Dwight Holcomb of Oklahoma City, Willie Holcomb of Weatherford; three sisters, Yolanda Holcomb of Weatherford, Noel Holcomb of Long Beach, Calif., Sonya Holcomb of Wichita, Kan.; and one grandson, Artez Young. Preceding him in death were two brothers, Gary Lee Holcomb and Harry Lee Holcomb. |
