Marjorie Elizabeth [Harrison] Harris

Funeral service for Marjorie E. Harris, 83, of Chickasha, are pending with Ferguson Funeral Home.

Marjorie E. Harris was born March 28, 1922.

She died February 2, 2006, in Chickasha.

Marjorie E. Harris

Funeral services for Marjorie Harris, 83, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2006, in the First Baptist Church of Verden with Kim Hayes officiating and Johnny Wray assisting.

Marjorie Harris was born March 28, 1922, in Gracemont, Oklahoma, the daughter of Thomas Judson Harrison and Nova [Garrett] Harrison. She died February 2, 2006, in Chickasha.

Marjorie grew up on a farm north of Gracemont. She attended Gracemont Public Schools graduasting from Gracemont High School in 1939.

On November 19, 1938, in Chickasha, Marjorie married her high school sweetheart, J. C. Harris. They lived in Gracement for several years before coming to Chickasha in 1948, where they established their home, and raised their family.

She was employed as a cashier for Fowler Grocery for many years, where she met and made friends with many wonderful people. She later went to work for Sentry Manufacturing, where she worked for over 15 years before her retirement.

After her retirement she had many hobbies. She enjoyed doing crochet, working word puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Marjorie was preceded in death by both parents; husband J. C.; three brothers; and two sisters.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and William Ellis, Marilyn Delk, and Nancy and Buddy Hector, all of Chickasha; son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Julie Harris, of Verden; ten grandchildren: Clint Delk, Marcana Ellithrop, Kandi Bently, John and Kristi Ellis, Hank and Emily Hector, Jennifer Langley, Megan Chase, Justin and Taylor Harris; ten great grandchildren: Colton, Olivia, Brock, Dylan, Maddison, Justin, Mia, and Katelyn.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation or to the O. C. Children's Hospital.

Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery, in Anadarko, under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
