March 2007 Kathleen "Kate" [Phillips] Cyrus Kathleen (Kate) Phillips Cyrus, widow of Samuel Woodrow "Woody" Cyrus passed away Tuesday evening, March 20, 2007, at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday March 24, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Steverson Funeral Home in Anadarko. Mrs. Cyrus was born September 24, 1915 to Charles Marion Phillips and Winona (Fidler) Phillips in Orleans, Indiana. She moved with her parents, brothers and sisters to Anadarko in 1929 and was married to S.W. Cyrus in 1932. They moved to Tulsa in 1984 where he preceded her in death on August 14, 2001. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Tulsa and a long time member of the First Christian Church of Anadarko, the Delphian Club and worked for many years at C.R. Anthony in Anadarko. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Cabbiness of Tulsa; one son and daughter-in-law Jim S. and Suzanne Cyrus of Bartlesville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Sam Cabbiness and wife Pam of Cushing, Katy Davis and husband Rick of Oklahoma City, Michael Cyrus and wife Mariet of Cincinnati, Ohio, Linda Thomas and husband Curtis of Bartlesville, Mark Cyrus and wife Suzanne and Scott Cyrus and wife Janell all of Tulsa, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Other relatives include two sisters, Jean Sanders of Norman and Mary Ann Martin of Bastrop, Texas and one brother John of Chickasha and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be at the Anadarko Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home of Anadarko. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, 2nd at Central Blvd. Anadarko, OK 73005 or to the charity of the donors' choice. |
