James Henry Carlson Funeral service for James Henry Carlson, age 90 of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate and Rev. Edward Whitley will assist.James Henry Carlson was born the son of Frank W. Carlson and Anna S. Nicholas Carlson on February 26, 1915, in Dutton, Oklahoma. He died on June 21, 2005 in Chickasha. He married Vivian P. Buchanan on October 3, 1935, in Chickasha. They were married for sixty-four years. James ran the Indiahoma Cotton Gin and farmed for many year.s He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Chickasha. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard, and his wife, Vivian Carlson. Survivors include, daughter and husband, Margaret Ann & Ivan Gilbert of Pocasset; grandson and wife, "Billy" Bob & Michele Gilbert of Pocasset; great granddaughters; Brooke & Brighton Gilbert, of Pocasset. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

© The Chickasha Express-Star Monday, 12 December 2003 Vivian Pearl [Buchanan] Carlson Funeral service for Vivian Pearl Carlson, age 89, of Verden, Oklahoma, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at the Verden First Baptist Church, Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate, and Rev. Edward Whitney will assist. Vivian Pearl Carlson was born the daughter of Samuel Buchanan and Bertha Robinson Buchanan on November 19, 1913, in Clinton, Arkansas. She died on Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Chickasha. Vivian married James Carlson on October 3, 1935, in Chickasha. She spent most of her life on the farm. Vivian was a member of the Verden First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Sam, Ted, John, Herbert, and Fred Buchanan, and three sisters, Emma Nicholas, Eddie Deason, and Wilda Jean Buchanan. Survivors include: husband: James Carlson of Verden; daughter and son-in-law: Margaret Ann and Ivan Gilbert of Verden; grandson and wife: Billy Bob and Michele Gilbert of Verden; great granddaughters: Brooke and Brighton Gilbert of Verden; sister-in-law: Opal Buchanan of Verden; sister-in-law: Evelyn Buchanan of Ada; many nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home. |
