Hinton, Oklahoma October 2017 August 29, 1950 ~ October 6, 2017 Max Scott Wiley, 67, was born to Dutch and Billie Wiley on August 29, 1950, and passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017, in Oklahoma City. Max attended Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City and later joined the Army. He retired Sergeant First Class and served two tours in Vietnam. Throughout this time he raised his children and settled down in Hinton, Oklahoma. He accepted the position of Chief of Security at Great Plains Correctional Facility, where he met his wife, Judy, and made many lifelong friendships that he held dear to his heart. He was able to work many various positions in town including one at Red Rock Tactical with one of his best friends. At the time of his death, he was employed at Sugar Creek Casino in the Surveillance department. When Max wasn't working, you could find him in the deer hut hoping for that once in a lifetime buck. After deer season he enjoyed trapping and watching deer cam. He introduced his grandchildren to deer hunting and felt it was an honor to spend this time with them. He was a complete outdoors-man, and took pride in his home, and especially mowing his lawn. He adored his grandchildren, and got a kick out of all the silly things they would say. He was baptized into Christ in April 2017. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Gilbert Fossett American Legion Post 230, and a member of the Hinton Church of Christ. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Billie Southerland; and four uncles, Van Wiley, Max Burns, Allen Burns, and Jimmy Burns. Max was survived by his wife, Judy Wiley of the home in Hinton; children, Drew Wiley and wife Melissa of Hinton, Apryl Wiley Henson of Blanchard, Carissa Smith and husband Jeff of Yukon, Darrell Baker of Hinton, and Bobbi Madison and fiance Marcus Odom of Hinton; eleven grandchildren, Abbie, Amalie, Alice, Justyce, Jeryt, Jayse ,Brook and husband Hunter, Kourtney, Arin, Amy,Oaklee, Jeryn, and William; two great-grandchildren, Dekkar and Ruger; sister Donna Retter and husband Louis of Oklahoma City; father, Dutch Wiley and wife Delores of Wilburton; two nephews, Jason and Justin Retter; one niece, Alexy and husband Jacob Blough; step brother, R.J. Winstead and step-sister, Angie Dufort. Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, 1:00 pm, Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at the Hinton Church of Christ, with Mr. James Cudd, officiating. Burial was at Lookeba Cemetery, Lookeba, Oklahoma, under the direction of Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, Oklahoma. |
