Lillie Maude [Tripp] Jackson
September 1873 ~ April 1934

One by one, those who witnessed and had part in the change of this country from unbroken prairie upon which the Indian chased wild game to a land of civilized homes, schools and churches are passing on to that other land where all must come.

For a half century as a girl and a woman, Maude Tripp Jackson was part of the vast throng whose labors have made of this southwest a land of real homes and refined pleasures.

About thirty-four years of her life were spent in and around this neighborhood.

Living for others and serving with patience and fidelity to her task of caring for her aged mother for so many years called forth words of admiration from all who knew her.

She was quiet of manner, pouring out her love in a lavish manner to all those she loved.

Besides her husband, she leaves a wide circle of relatives and friends who will miss her. Her devotion will leave a fragrance of the garden of God in the lives of those who remain.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church at Lookeba Thursday afternoon by Rev. Morrison of Hinton.

Interment was in the Lookeba cemetery.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
