Lillian Delia Wood Dahl
October 25, 1926 ~ February 23, 2013

Lillian Delia Dahl was taken into the arms of Jesus on February 23, 2013.

Lillian was a longtime member of Lookeba Methodist Church, where she was faithful in attendance as long a health permitted.

A Celebration of her life will be held at that site on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

Lillian was born to Carl and Carrie Sears Wood at rural Eldorado, Oklahoma, on October 25, 1926.

When she was only a few months old the family moved just a few miles to the Bethel or Louis Community of Gould, Oklahoma, where she began her school life. The School later consolidated with LaHoma and Purvis Hill to form the Louis Hill School, from where she graduated in 1945.

She then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College for only 2 years before she began her teaching at her home school for one year. Following that she came to Lookeba School in 1948. Here she taught in the primary grades, all the while continuing summer school sessions and night classes until earning a Bachelor Degree in 1951. A few years later, in 1960, by the same method, she graduated with a Master of Teaching Degree.

Lillian was named Caddo County Teacher of the year for 1981. Her career at Lookeba lasted 35 continuous years, when she retired in 1983.

At Lookeba, Lillian met her love, Carl Dahl, and they were married on July 29, 1953. She was a faithful wife and later had the good fortune to become a loving mother when twin girls of nine years joined their home – now they could see new things through children's eyes as they traveled on vacations.

Later they maintained a cabin at Fort Cobb Lake, where they had so much fun in water sports, boating, skiing and fishing.

Other than family, fishing remained Lillians favorite pastime in her golden years.

She always enjoyed family get togethers, with their family, her family, and Carl's family. Lillian attempted to be a sport with grandchildren, nieces and nephews, even when not feeling well, because they were so loving. In addition, some of Lillian's warmest feelings were when she felt she may have helped a child grow in self esteem. She and Carl had a long and happy life together.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Carrie Wood, two sisters; Fern McCamon and Velma, a newborn, two brothers; Ivan Wood and Iris wood, one niece; Ramona Collins.

Survivors include her husband Carl, of the home, two daughters; Yvette Yoder of Weatherford, Yvonne Bare and husband Clifford of Lookeba, six grandchildren; Ryan Wells and his wife Erin, Kyle Yoder and his wife Kelley, Tyson Yoder, Cory Bare, Cody Bare and Anna Marie Bare, great-grandchildren; Carson and Kensington Wells, Kylynne Yoder, Lincoln Wells, Deegan Bare.

In lieu of flowers, any memorials made to St. Judes, Bethany Childrens Home, or Church of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.

Service: Lookeba United Methodist Church
