Weatherford, Oklahoma May 2007 July 3, 1928 ~ May 28, 2007 Funeral services for Jimmie Ray Cranor, 78 year-old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident, will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at 'The Chapel" of Lockstone Funeral Home with Dr. Raymond Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the Lookeba Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Weatherford. Jimmie was born to Hal and Mallie [Ray] Cranor on July 3, 1928 in Clinton, Oklahoma, and passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007 in Weatherford, Oklahoma. Jimmie was raised on the northwest side of Oklahoma City where he attended Classen High School, graduating in 1947. He attended college at Oklahoma A&M for two years. He also served in the Army for two years. He married Norene Chronister on December 31, 1952. They made their home in several states while with Pan-American Petroleum. In 1963, they bought Cedar Lake Grocery, which they operated for 35 years. He was an Oklahoma Farmers Union Insurance agent from 1982 until his retirement in 1997. After retiring, they made their home in Weatherford. Jimmie enjoyed being a handyman and tinkering. Jimmie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Norene Cranor of Weatherford, Oklahoma; a daughter, Caren Edwards and her husband Mark of Weatherford, Oklahoma; a brother, R.O. Cranor and his wife Mary of Tucson, Arizona; and two grandchildren, Melissa and Cassie Mahan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Vesta; and a granddaughter, Misty Dawn Mahan. |
