Owasso, Oklahoma March 2016 June 17, 1926 ~ March 20, 2016 Mack Roy Coleman, 95, of Owasso, Ok., died Sunday, March 17, 1991. The eldest of seven children, he was born August 8, 1895 at Cowlington, Indian Territory to James M. and Margaret Jarrard Coleman. He attended Chillicothe College, Chillicothe, Mo. He taught school for several years at various locations in LeFlore County. Held positions in several offices of LeFlore County government, among them the office of County Clerk, County Tax Assessor and County Sheriff. He was State Relief Coordinator for LeFlore County during the depression years. In 1934 and 1935, he served in the Oklahoma State Legislature as a Representative from LeFlore County. In 1940, he moved to California and worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. until retiring in 1961. Upon retirement, he moved to Estacada, Oregon and later was Mayor of that community. He returned to Okla. in the 1970's and, at the time of his death, was residing at Evergreen Care Center, Owasso, Okla. He was recently awarded a pin in recognition of 50 years of membership in the Masonic Order. He is survived by wife, Mary Louise, Owasso; son, M.R. Coleman, Goleta, Ca.; daughter, Normalee Price, Barstow, Ca.; sister, Claire Palmer, Owasso; brother, Lindsey Coleman, Ft. Gibson, Ok. Funeral services for Mr. Coleman 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 1991, Mowery Chapel, Owasso, Okla. Interment 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, Lookeba, Ok. |
