© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 13, 1957 June 30, 1893 ~ February 10, 1957 Funeral services for Bert Coats, 63, who died about 5 p.m. Sunday at the home of his sister, Mrs. W.C. Patterson of near Binger, were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from the Oak Dale Baptist church. The services were directed by Rev. Alvis Merrill of Clinton. Coats, who was an uncle of Mrs. Vernon Patterson of Carnegie, had been in ill health the past several years. His death was attributed to a heart ailment. He had lived the past 12 years on a farm three miles northwest of Anadarko, but had lived with his sister at Binger since he took critically ill. Born in 1894 at Vernon, Texas, he later lived in Holdenville and move to Caddo county several years ago. He lived in California for some time, but returned to Caddo County to make his home about 12 years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, three married daughters, Maudie, Inez and Floy, all of El Centro, Calif.; six brothers, Bailey, Henry, Jody, Milas and Clyde, all of Dearborn, Mich., and Alvie of Richmond, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. W.C. Patterson, who lives west of Binger. |
