Elsie Agnes [Cauthron] Garrison
Elsie Agnes Garrison was born on May 2, 1921 in Cowlington, OK, to William and Berta Mae [Metcalf] Cauthron. Elsie passed away on August 24, 2006 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. She and her family lived in eastern Oklahoma until 1928, when they decided to move to Texas. They got as far as Bridgeport and lived there for a number of years. While living there she met Owen Fane (Dock) Garrison.
They were married on November 13, 1937 in El Reno, OK. The Sickles community was their home until 1942 when they boarded a train and moved to California. They lived there until 1945, then they returned to the Hinton, Oklahoma area and farmed.
Dock and Elsie had 11 children so Elsie spent her time being a housewife and mother.
Dock passed away August 1979. Elsie continued to live on the farm until 1983, when she moved into Hinton, Oklahoma.
Survivors include: Eleven children: William Garrison and wife Kaye of Ardmore, OK; KathrynChisum and husband Roy of Hinton, OK; Leslie Garrison and wife Billie of El Reno, OK; Leonard Garrison and wife Mary Kay of Chickasha, OK; Joseph Garrison and wife Glenda of Kemp, TX; Brenda Holland and husband Jerry of El Reno, OK; Ricky Garrison and wife Cheryl of Yukon, OK; Valerie Musser and husband Frank of El Reno, OK; Cheryl Morales and husband Armando of Hinton, OK; Carol Garrison of Hinton, OK; Terral Garrison and wife Sandy of Hinton, OK; 21 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one sister, Edith Williams of Westmister, CA.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Berta Cauthron, her husband Dock Garrison, two brothers, Leon and Gene Cauthron; two sisters, Mildred Estep and Eunice Parrish.
Services will be Monday, August 28, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church, Hinton, OK. Rev. Steve Murray and Dr. M. H. Ingram will be officiating.
Interment will be in the Hinton Cemetery, Hinton, OK, under the direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK.
