Williams Funeral Services For Albert Woman Held at Fort Cobb ALBERT-- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Williams, who died Saturday at the home of a son near Albert, were held at 3 p.m. Monday from the Fort Cobb Assembly of God church. Mrs. Williams had been ill for about eight days. She had lived in Caddo county for 32 years. She was born on November 19, 1874, in Searcy county, Ark., and was married to James R. Williams on January 16, 1898, at Scottland, Ark. Her husband preceded her in death on December 3, 1953. Survivors include a son, Perry, of Albert; a daughter, Mrs. Nettie Lindsey, Apache; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. Pall bearers included; Authur Dickenson, Leroy Sanders, Melvin Barnes, Stewart Barnes, Clint Tackett and Marshal Rich. |

She was a graduate of the Fort Cobb high school, attended college at Southwestern State and taught school in the area before marrying Burnis Williams on October 19, 1938 at Hobart. They had three children, including twins. One child died in infancy. |

Lloyd Eugene Williams
Lloyd Eugene Williams was born July 2, 1923, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Maurice and Mary [Williams] Williams, and passed from this life on Monday, August 4, 2003, in Clinton, Oklahoma, at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 2 days, following a lengthy illness.
Lloyd lived in Anadarko until 1934 when the family moved to Washita.
He graduated from Washita High School in 1938. He farmed until he went into the U. S. Navy May 1, 1942.
He served aboard ship in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign during World War II, and received several medals before his discharge on December 9, 1946.
He was in the Naval Reserve from then until December, 1951. On December 12, 1946, he and the former Dorothy Coyle were married in Washington, D. C.
They lived there 4 years, where he worked for Lyon-Conklin, a wholesale heating distributor, until they moved to Washita.
They bought the Washita General Store, and operated it for 2 years before he went to work for Public Service Company of Oklahoma.
He was there 33 years, retiring in 1985 as shift supervisor in the control room.
Two years ago Lloyd and Dorothy moved to Chickasha.
At the time of his death, Lloyd was at the Veteran Center in Clinton.
Lloyd enjoyed bowling, and he and Dorothy belonged to the Tuesday Night Mixed League at Indian City Lanes.
He raised game roosters and quarter horses with his old buddy, Harold Silvers. Lloyd was a longtime fan of the Fort Cobb Longhorns, and after his retirement he enjoyed traveling.
He was a former Washita School Board member, and was a member of the Caddo County Coon Hunters Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers: Frank, Reece, Virgil, Phil and John, and 1 sister, Margaret Venturella.
Survivors include his wife: Dorothy of the home in Chickasha; one son: Alan Williams of Rogers, Arkansas; 2 daughters: Donna King and husband Ron of Arapaho, Oklahoma, and Carol Hackney and husband Tony of Chickasha; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; two sisters: Wandeen McDonald of Tahoka, Texas, and Vanda Harvey of Washita; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, in the Chapel of Steverson Funeral Home, with eulogies to be given by his nephews, Darren and Dean Harvey.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, north of Fort Cobb, under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday.
