February 29, 2010 Lance Windy Boy "Goam-dal Thalee" Whitecloud Norman - Funeral for Lance Windy Boy "Goam-dah Thalee" Whitecloud, 34, Norman, will be at 1 pm Thursday at First Baptist Church, 300 Tawakonie, Fort Cobb, with Rev Phil Goombi, the Rev Amon Harjo and the Rev Duke Tsoodle Jr, officiating. Burial will fowwow in the Fort Cobb Cemetery. Prayer service will be at 7 pm Wednesday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Whitecloud went to his heavenly home on Friday, February 19, 2010, at a Norman hospital. Lance was born on November 11, 1975, in Lawrence, Kansas to Gary and Phyllis [Frank] Whitecloud. He attended and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1994. Lance attended Oklahoma University for three years majoring in Indian Studies. He was a member of the Sigma Tau Fraternity in Norman and the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma. He was also a memmber of the Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, Otoe Missouri Tribe, Lowa Tribe, Navajo Tribe, Creek Nation, and Seminole Nation. He was a member of the Caddo Baptist Church and was baptised at the First Indian Baptist Church by the Rev Victor Kaneubbe in Phoenix, Arizona. Lance loved serving and worshipping his Lord. He loved attending Native American events and Po-wows. He was an accomplished Straight Dancer and enjoyed competing in many contests throughout the United States. He was an avid OU fab attending many football games. His artistic abilities include beadwork. He learned his intricate design for making beautiful Native American clothing from his mother, Phyllis. Lance would design his clothing and his mother would sew his creations into his reality. When he wasn't dancing or designing he loved to spend time with his family and friends, the Norman Crew. Lance loved to travel with his grandparents from an early age which enabled him to see God's many wonders. He also traveled with his brothers throughout Indian Country. Lance was known by his nieces and nephews as "Uncle Ninny." He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Whitecloud of Anadarko; his father, Gary "Chink" Whitecloud Sr of Tulsa' three brothers and two sisters-in-law; three sisters, nieces and nephews, two special friends: Jackie Pipestem and Randy Smith and manyother beloved family members and friends He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Theodore Douglas Whitecloud, great grandparents: Mtrtle Berry Perdosophy, Mary Silversmith, Adolphus and Cynthia Goombi and Mose and Monoah Gray. |
