April 29, 1953 Charles Henry Threlkeld Funeral Services for Charles Henry Threlkeld Retired Ft Cobb farmer were held Tuesday afternoon in the Ft Cobb Funeral chapel. Threlkeld passed away April 25 at his home in Ft Cobb. He was 80 years, nine months and 17 days of age. He was born May 8, 1877 in Joplin Mo, He was married November 28 1899 in Crawford Co Ark to Nora Elizabeth Laswell. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are his wife of the home, four sons, Alvin R. Threlkeld and Raymond E. Threlkeld both of Apachie and Homer R. Threlkeld and Lawrence V. Threlkeld both of Selma Calif., five Daughters , Mrs Jewell Pinner, Ft Cobb, Mrs Flossie Lane, Lawton Ok , Mrs Nellie Ream, Enid Ok, Mrs Pearl Yerkes, Bay City Texas, and Mrs Bessie B. Smith, Apachie Ok. One Brother Dan Threlkeld of Watonga Ok, one sister Mrs Pearl Hicks, Tacoma Wash, 43 Grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. E.L. Stumbo of Enid, former minister of the Ft Cobb Church of Christ, officiated at the services with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Fort Cobb. His wife was Nora Elizabeth Laswell, Daughter of James T. Laswell and Matilda Francis Kimbler. © Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 11, 1958 Nora Elizabeth [Laswell] Threlkeld Funeral Service Held Tuesday For Fort Cobb Woman FORT COBB-Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Elizabeth Threlkeld, pioneer resident of this community, were held at 2:30 Tuesday at the Fort Cobb funeral home. Mrs. Thelkeld died Sunday at the age of 75 years. Funeral services were directed by Rev. E.L. Stumbo of Enid. Burial was made at the Oak Grove cemetery. Mrs. Threlkeld was born on August 5, 1882, in Crawford county, Arkansas. She was married there in 1899, and later moved with her husband to Caddo county. Her husband preceded her in death last April 25. Among the survivors are four sons, Alvin R. and Raymond E. of Apache; Homer Ray, Selma, Calif., and Lawrence, Kingsburg, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Jewel Pinner, Fort Cobb; Mrs. Bessie Smith, Apache; Mrs. Flossie Lane, Lawton; Mrs. Nellie Ream, Oklahoma City; and Mrs. Pearl Yerkes, Bay City, Tex. She also is survived by 43 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Pallbeareres were Earl Turney, Charlie Knauss, Burl Knauss, Walter Owens, Oliver Turner and Haskell Meek. |
