© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 25, 1961 Jefferson Oscar Sisk Jefferson Oscar Sisk was born August 14,1886, in Gordon county, Georgia, to Benjamin and Mary Sick. On December 25,1910, he married Birdie Ann Webb at Nocona, Texas. He died January 19 in the Western State hospital at Fort Supply. In 1918 he and his wife moved to a farm near Fort Cobb and seven years later moved to the Fairview community. One child was born to them, a son. He was retired from farming in 1957 and moved to their present home on West Main. He had one brother, Arthur Sisk of California and three sisters, Mrs. Ellar Burdett of Duncan, Mrs. Willie Scott, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Hettie Webb, San Antonio, TX. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 15, 1964 Bertie Ann "Birdie" [Webb] Sisk Funeral Services Held Saturday For Mrs. J.O. Sisk Mrs. J.O. Sisk, a resident of Carnegie and community since 1925, died early Friday morning at the Curd Nursing Home after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist church with Rev. James Weston, pastor, officiating. Burial was at Fort Cobb with Pitcher Funeral Home in charge. Bertie Ann Webb was born to Milton and Exer Seaberry Webb on March 9, 1891, in Parker county, Texas. She and her brother, Berley, were one of four sets of twins born to Mr. and Mrs. Webb. He preceded her in death May 17 of this year. She was married to Jefferson Oscar Sisk at Montague, Texas, December 25, 1911. One son was born to them but lived only five days. The couple moved to the Fort Cobb community in 1918 and to the Fairview community, five miles north of Carnegie, in 1925. The farmed until retiring in 1957 when they moved to Carnegie. Her husband preceded her in death in January, 1961. She had been in ill health for many years, having major surgery twice to remove both legs. She also had lost her eyesight. She had been a resident of the nursing home for some time. She and her husband had been members of the Baptist church since the early '20's. Surviving her are five brothers, Monroe Webb, Carnegie, Foye Webb of Seattle, Wash., Croff Webb, Beaumont, Texas, Doff Webb, Dalhart, and Oliver Webb, San Antonio; and other relatives. |
