© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 11, 1933 Horace "Leo" Reeves Horace "Leo" Reeves was born on July 28, 1935 to Connie [Elrod] & Walter Oren Reeves. He attended school at Gotebo, Okla until the 10th grade. His family then moved to Mtn. View, Okla where he graduated from high school. He helped his father farm until he retired. Leo continued farming. At the age of 22, Leo married Iverna Ainsworth. Iverna was only 17 at the time and Leo helped her finish graduating high school. The couple lived on a farm north of Mtn. View where they began raising their 4 children. Marty, Valerie, Terrell & Kirby. In addition to farming, Leo worked for Colvert's Dairy. He drove a milk truck and worked as a wholesale route salesman in western Okla. He quit farming in 1968 and moved his family to an acreage north of Carnegie. In 1970, Leo and Iverna started a small mobile home park on their acreage. Soon after, he quit working for Colvert's Dairy & acquired his own truck in 1975. He was leased to Jenning's Trucking for several years. As a truck driver, he enjoyed traveling in Okla., and parts of Texas and Kansas. He especially enjoyed the comradery and close ties with his fellow truckers. In 1987, Leo and Iverna opened the Frontier Diner at Carnegie & also purchased a car wash. Leo gradually quit trucking and spent most of his time operating the car wash and mobile home park. He was also a member of the Great Plains Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed this for several years with his sons and grandson Mitchell. Mitchell rebuilt his PaPa Leo's show tractors. Leo won several trophies at some of the parades and tractor shows. He was saved at the age of 10 at the Gotebo Baptist Church. After marriage, he attended and helped support the Assembly of God Church in Carnegie for years. Leo went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2015 after battling a rare neurological disease for 3 years. His family took care of him at home with the special help of Victory Home Health and Hospice. Survivors include: his wife Iverna, 4 children- Marty, Val, Terrell and Kirby. Seven grandchildren-Candice, Amanda, Mitchell, Keather, Keeanna, Kaylee, and Kenzie. Six great grandchildren-Brooklyn, Colten, Easton, Dason, Evelyn, and Aubrianna. Leo was the 9th of 10 children. He is survived by his one sister Wanda Aday of Lawton, Okla., several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Leo is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers-Glen, Leonard, and Kenneth, 5 sisters- Mae, Velma, Leona, Lelabelle, and Roxie. Leo will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
