Willie Voyle [Morrison] Pounds

Willie V. Pounds, 95, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, was surrounded by her family when she was called home by her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 16, 2012. Willie was born May 27, 1916 in Scotland, Arkansas to John William & Dora [Clutts] Morrison.

She came to Fort Cobb from Scotland, Arkansas at the age of 13 and graduated from Fort Cobb high School in 1934.

She married Claudie Pennon Pounds on December 29, 1935 in Anadarko.

Willie was a wonderful seamstress. Her sewing skills enabled her to sew for generations of customers who also became her friends. She created many beautiful bridal gowns, bridesmaid and prom dresses as well as "Mo Betta" shirts for the men and baby quilts.

Willie was a compassionate and loving lady who loved the Lord, her family and appreciated every minute of each day. She was a faithful member of the Hopewell Baptist Church and later the First Baptist Church of Fort Cobb.

Willie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. P. "Buddy" Pounds; Brothers: Ray, Darius & Eunice Morrison and sisters: Lela Rackley & Fannie Patton and son-in-law, Willis Hall.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma with Rev. Matt Stewart, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.
