© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, September 25, 1957 Amanda WillieLue [Wallace] Newton Pioneer Caddo Woman Dies At Fort Cobb Home Fort Cobb--A protracted illness proved fatal Tuesday night for Mrs. J.E. Newton, a pioneer resident of this community. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Fort Cobb funeral chapel, with Charles Hamilton of the Christian church in charge. Mrs. Newton, a resident of this community for 46 years, died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. She had been ill for three weeks. Born in 1877 in Jack County, Texas, she was married to the late J.E. Newton in Jack county in 1893. The couple moved to the Fort Cobb community in 1911. She was a member of the Baptist church. Her husband preceded her in death in December, 1954, and one son, Bill, died September 9 in California. She is survived by four sons, Earl of Durant, Ural of Fort Cobb, Keith of Santa Rose, Calif. and Bert of Miami, Fla.; and one daughter, Mrs. Mary Harris, Fort Stockton, Tex.; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren. |
July 28, 2006 Cleve Allan Newton Cleve Allan Newton was born on May 28, 1961 in Oklahoma City, to Jimmy and Phyllis Newton. He passed from this life to be with his Lord on July 28, 2006 at Muskogee, OK. Cleve is survived by his dad, Jimmy Newton & special mom, LaWanda of Afton; his mother, Phyllis Kimble & special dad, Kenneth of Newalla; a sister, Vicki VanScoder & Doyle of Anadarko; a brother, Steve Newton & Debbie of Elgin; and a brother, Jim Newton & Judy of Vinita, along with several nieces and nephews. Graveside services ~ July 31, 2006 by Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee. Burial was at the Ft. Cobb Cemetery, Ft. Cobb, OK. |
