Tuesday, January 8, 1927 Donald William Marsh Donald W. Marsh was born June 24, 1927 to Jim and Margie [Seals] Marsh in Cement and died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 in Chickasha. He was a veteran of the US Army and served his country during WWII. He was united in marriage to Metra Gibson on June 10, 1950 in Altus. He was a truck driver for several years and owned and operated a gas station. He was a good mechanic and enjoyed hunting. He made jewelry out of all types of stones as well as collected arrowheads. He was a coin collector and a jack of all trades. He was volunteer firefighter and a member of the Civil Defense in Ft. Cobb for many years. He loved tracking storms and watching and alerting everyone to the weather conditions. He enjoyed being in the outdoors and being around family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two nephews and one niece. Survivors include his wife, Metra, of the home; two daughters, Almeda Mackey and husband Stan and Donna Iames and husband Greg, all of Ft. Cobb; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; six brothers, Odie, Lester, Dillon, Robert Earl, George and Stanley; six sisters, Goldie Johnson, Dollie Underwood, Minnie Butler, Margie Henry, Fern Bruce and Lucy Burkett; numerous nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. |
