© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma 22 December 2003 Elsie [Evans] Lewis Elsie Lewis, 95, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, entered into rest Friday, December 19, 2003, at Baptist Integris Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Elsie was born April 9, 1908, at Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, to William S. and Emily (Winstone) Evans. She was married in 1980 to Judge Carlton Lewis. Mrs. Lewis and her husband operated a dairy in the Blanchard area. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Survivors include: 1 nephew, Bill Evans and wife, Bobbie, Ninnekah, Oklahoma; 4 great nieces: Janice Cockrum and husband, Dwayne, Chickasha, Oklahoma, Janet Howard and husband, Rodney, Chickasha, Oklahoma, Donna Stewart and husband Jim, Alex, Oklahoma, Carol Nowlin and husband, Richard, Booker, Texas; several great, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, Fred Evans, Francis Evans and Theodore Evans, and 2 sisters, Sarah Crawford and Ella Evans. Services were at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2003, Parkview Christian Church, Chickasha, Oklahoma. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Smith-Hackney Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. |
