Tuesday, April 24/ 2007 Opal Perry [Nails] Lee Opal Perry Lee, 86, long time resident of Anadarko, Oklahoma, was called home by her Lord and Saviour, Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Opal was born February 16, 1921 to Johnny Nails and Dinah [Dixon] in Wapanucka, Oklahoma. She was united in marriage to Richard Perry in 1937. She and Richard farmed many years in the Oney Community with their children by their side. Richard preceded her in death in 1956. She was united in marriage to Glenn Lee in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was a very hard worker and enjoyed being out doors. She worked for Mrs. Finney 20 years and worked at Silver Crest Nursing Home for over 20 years. She was a former and very faithful member of Macediona Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, were she served as a devoted church secretary and Sunday school teacher. She later moved her membership to Greater First Baptist Church in Anadarko, where she has been a member many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Opal loved being around her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very thankful to God for her wonderful family. She was a strong lady in both her faith in Christ Jesus and in her strong will to survive. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Opal was a longtime resident of the Oney-Albert community were she raised 10 children. She greeted everyone with a smile and something good to eat. She kept a daily journal until a few days before God called her home. Opal's faith in God and love of her family was the basis for her courage. Her legacy is that she leaves behind her family and many friends who dearly loved her. She has left this earth, but not our hearts. She is survived by: two sons, Bobby & Carolyn Perry, Anadarko, Oklahoma; Clifton & Kathy Perry, Dallas, Texas; five daughters, Opal Faye Post, Moore, Oklahoma; Kathryn Ann Perry, Atlanta, Georgia; JoAnn Slade, Alexandria, Virginia; Shirley & Robert McDaniel, Harvest, Alabama; Sandra & Burnette Johnson, Chickasha, Oklahoma; one sister, Sharon Washington, Detroit, Michigan; forty-one grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; special nephew, Cleo Cheadle of Carnegie, Oklahoma; several nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Nails, two husbands, Richard Perry and Glenn Lee, a special friend, Herman Harris, three sons, Billy Joe, Herman and Calvin Perry, a special son-in-law, Bill Post, her mother, Dinah Dixon, two sisters, Martha Johnson, Katharine Williams, two brothers, Venoy Cox and Henry Nails. Service will be Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at Greater First Baptist Church, Anadarko, Oklahoma. Rev. Autry Burrus, Rev. Don Wright, Rev. Vernon Winston and Rev. Morris Blakes will officiate. Burial will be in the Fort Cobb Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home, Anadarko, Oklahoma. |
Tuesday, July 27, 2010 John Wesley Lee Graveside service for John Wesley Lee, age 56, of Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, with Monte Ginnings, minister of Northwest Church of Christ, Lawton, officiating. Mr. Lee died on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. John Wesley Lee was born to Johny W. and Beulah M. [Pack] Lee on March 10th, 1954, in Frankfurt, Germany. He then moved with his family, in 1956 to Lawton, Oklahoma. He attended school in Lawton and graduated from Eisenhower High School on May 31, 1972. He was a long time member of Northwest Church of Christ and had a great passion for Hot Rods, Harleys, and the Lord. He is survived by one brother; Clair Smith, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, One Uncle; Ray Pack, of Marlow, Oklahoma, One Aunt; Nola Johnson, of San Jose, California, and numerous cousins. He is also survived by his special friends; Ralph and Barbara Wallace, of Lawton, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents; Johny and Beulah Lee.
