Houston Eustace "Sonny" KlineKole Jr

FORT COBB - Funeral for Houston E. KlineKole Jr., 59, Fort Cobb, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethal Baptist Church, Anadarko. Mr. KlineKole died Friday, Aug. 1, 2008, in Fort Cobb. Burial with military honors will be at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1949, in Lawton, to Houston E. and Mary Virginia Jay KlineKole. He graduated from Riverside Indian School in Anadarko. He attended Brigham Young University. He joined the Marine Corps on June 16, 1969, in Salt Lake City. He served in Vietnam where he earned National Defense Medal, Rifle Expert Badge, Vietnam Service Medal with a Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Citation and Presidential Unit Citation. He was honorably discharged on June 15, 1972, at Camp Pendleton, Calif., with the rank of sergeant. He was a member of Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, Southwest Oklahoma Vietnam Veterans Association, Apache Blackfeet Society and was Chairman of Apache Native American Church. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Jeanette Berry KlineKole, of the home; his mother, Mary Virginia Jay, Fort Cobb; a daughter, Dora Belle Kate KlineKole, Apache; four sons: Houston Eustace KlineKole III, Fort Cobb; Stewart KlineKole, Oklahoma City; Austin KlineKole, Shawnee; and Phil Warrior, Mandan, N.D.; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Austin KlineKole Sr., Apache; two sisters: Onita May Little Sun, Bartlesville, and Carol KlineKole Wildes, Fort Cobb; three adopted daughters: Daisy May Swift, Sa-Nut-Te-Rose-Onco and ShaShana Tehauno, all of Anadarko; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; two sisters: Linda Houstine KlineKole Scales and Mary Ruth Galindo; his maternal and paternal grandfathers: Tah-Saht-Tseel-Noe "Stewart" KlineKole and Claude Jay Ne-Sah-Klu-Ah; and his maternal and paternal grandmothers: Dora Belle Kate Archilta and May Pewo Jay. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
