© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, July 19, 1939 Thomas Jefferson Kincy Pioneer Fort Cobb Man Passes Away Thomas Jefferson Kincy was born at Dyersburg, Tennessee May 15, 1867. He passed away at his home northeast of Fort Cobb Saturday, July 8, 1939 at the age of 72 years, 1 month, 23 days. He was married to Ellen Fisher August 17, 1895 at Dexter, Texas, Grayson County. To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys, all of whom are living. Mr. and Mrs. Kincy came to Oklahoma about 1901 and have lived near Fort Cobb since that time. Mr. Kincy united with the Baptist church at the age of 22 years, he was also a member of the Modern Woodmen and I.O.O.F. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellen Kincy, four daughters, Mrs. Rose Abel, Alma, Arkansas, Miss Ola Kincy, Fort Cobb, Mrs. Carrie Meek, Tulare, California, Mrs. Mary Henning, Altus, and three sons, Jim, Howard and Harold, of the home address; three grand-children, Mrs. Geraldine Rackley and Lee Edward Abel, Alma, Arkansas and Donald Edward Meek, Tulare, California, three sisters, Mrs. Eliza Smedley, Mrs. Margaret Williams, and Mrs. Sallie Price of Drumright, and four brothers, Charlie Kincy, Carnegie, Sam Kincy, Purcell, Robert Kincy, Lowell, Arkansas and Cooper Kincy, Salisaw. Funeral services were held at the Fort Cobb Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. W.J. Compton. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery arrangements being in charge of the Harvey Funeral home. |
© Carnegie Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, August 13, 1958 Ruth Ellen [Fisher] Kincy Kincy Services Held At Fort Cobb Wednesday FORT COBB-Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Ellen Kincy, 78 years old, were held Wednesday August 6, in the Fort Cobb Funeral Home chapel. Rev. E.L. Stumbo, Enid, officiated at the services. Born April 1, 1880, in Belton, Texas, she died Sunday after a long illness. She was married to Thomas Jefferson Kincy, Gainesville, Texas in 1895. She moved to Fort Cobb in 1902. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are three sons, Jim, Howard, and Harold, all of Fort Cobb; a sister, Ola Kincy, Fort Cobb; four daughters, Rose Abel, and Ola Kincy, Fort Cobb; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Houston Temple,Stillwater. Pallbearers were Marvin Harris, Lawrence McCullough, Billy Thomas, T.B. Bishop and Charley Knauss. |

August 10, 1958 Velma Ruth [Weaver] Kincy Velma Ruth Kincy, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 10th, 2013 in Norman, OK. She was born on December 23, 1917 in Fort Cobb, OK to Joe and Ethel [Hawn] Weaver. Her mother died when she was just an infant and was fortunate enough to be raised by her step-mother Tina Fuller Weaver. She attended school at South Pioneer. She married Ovid Davis and to this union was born two children, Vivian and Leon. After his death she married George Kincy and to this union was born Donald, Charles and Larry Wayne. She was a homemaker, loved to sew and paint. Her greatest enjoyment came from time spent with her family. She is survived by: 1 Son, Donald Kincy, Fort Cobb, OK, 1 Daughter, Vivian Guthrie, Noble, OK, Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, 2 Brothers: Carl Weaver, and wife Joyce, Fort Cobb, OK, Marion Weaver, and wife Annabelle, Del City, OK, Sister-in-law: Helen Weaver, OKC, OK, Numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by: Her parents, both husbands, 3 sons; Leon Davis, Charles Kincy and Larry Wayne Kincy. Her grandson, Donnie Davis. Two brothers; Nelson Weaver and Bill Weaver. Her nephew, Ronald Weaver and her niece, Gayle Weaver. Her Step Mother, Tina Weaver. Sister-in-law, Mildred Weaver. Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2013, Fort Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Ft. Cobb, OK. Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb, OK.
