January 21, 1967 William Arthur Kelly William Arthur "Cap" Kelly was a son of D.W. and Frances Kelly. He married Dora Clayton in 1903. Moved to Oklahoma in 1911 settling in Caddo County. He was a farmer, farming northeast of Carnegie. He had 8 children, five dying before 1967. He had 3 surviving daughters, Esther Hinchey of Watonga, Grace Cobb of Selma, Calif., and Mae Crawford of Reedley, Calif.; 3 brothers, J.W. Kelly of Beach Grove, Ark., R.M. Kelly of Binger and Talmadge Kelly of Wellston, OK; two sister, Lura Adams of Carnegie, and Carried Mobley of Oklahoma City. |

Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 31, 1934 Dora Elizabeth [Clayton] Kelly Mrs. W.A. Kelly, Dora Elizabeth Clayton was born Feb. 29, 1888 at Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and departed this life Oct. 28, 1934, aged 46 years, 7 months and 28 days at her home near Carnegie, Okla. She was united in marriage to William Arthur Kelly at Lawrenceburg, Tenn. Jan. 5, 1904. To this union eight children were born, three boys and five girls. Three have gone on before. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and five children, Mrs. Esther Plaster, Chester, Mrs. Clovie Bickford, Eakly, Mrs. Grace Cobb of near Carnegie and Vernon and Maye at home. Her mother, two sisters and two brothers at Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and numerous other relatives also survive. At the age of twelve she was converted and united with the Methodist church. To this faith she was loyal and true throughout her entire life. Always doing Christian acts. She was a true and loving wife, a kind and loving mother, loved and cherished by all whom she came is contact. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon by R.E. Harvey of Fort Cobb and Burial was made in the Oak Grove cemetery at Fort Cobb. |
