Saturday, May 24, 2008 Dora Lavell [Roland] Horn Funeral for Dora Lavell Horn, 79, Fort Cobb, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Fort Cobb, with Rev. Charlie Blount officiating. Mrs. Horn died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Oklahoma City. . Burial will be in Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home. . She was born on Dec. 15, 1928, in Sasakwa to John Dewey and Eltha Mae Buie Roland. . She attended grade school at Elm Grove and high school at Eakly where she played basketball and softball. She married Dean Carl Horn on May 14, 1946, in Cordell. They lived on a farm northwest of Fort Cobb where they had four children. She operated Lavell's Beauty Shop out of her home for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years. . Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Delora and Ricky Lee, Fort Cobb, and Barbara Wheat and Art Carpenter, Carnegie; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Spencer Horn and Johnny and Melissa Horn, all of Lawton; 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Laura and Danny Graham, Wilson, N.C.; Kellie and Pepper Martin, Norman; Traci and Cory Sutton, Norman; Shawna; Brooke; Alex; Lindsay; Whitney; Christa Harrison, Oklahoma City; Cara and Dave Kerby, Tahlequah, and Casey and Mandy Lee, Yukon; 10 great-grandchildren and their spouses: Tyler and Melanie; Jill; Chris; Callie; Josh; Hope; Connor; Cassidy; Mandy and Macy; a sister and brother-in-law: Wanda and Tim Warner, Diboll, Texas; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Henry and Rema Roland, Carnegie, and Gene Roland, Anchorage, Alaska; four sisters-in-law: Evelyn Roland, Oklahoma City; Virginia Roland, Odessa, Texas; Ruth Horn, Alfalfa, and Quentella Horn Sharpe, Las Vegas, N.V.; a brother-in-law, Phil Horn, Alfalfa, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. . She was preceded in death by her husband, of the home; her parents; a grandson, Shawn Dean Horn; a daughter-in-law: Virginia Horn; a sister and brother-in-law: Oleta and Vernie Moore and four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Leonard Roland, Gwin and Betty Roland, J.D. and Vivian Roland and Don Roland. Memorial contributions may be made to Fort Cobb First Baptist Church. |
