Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 26, 1936 Anna Wilhemina Catharine [Thesfeld] Hoelscher Mrs. Schwab's Mother Dies Funeral services were held at Ft. Cobb Methodist church Saturday afternoon for Mrs. H.H. Hoelscher, aged mother of Mrs. Adelia Schwab and an early day resident of the community northeast of Carnegie. Rev. Edwin Grant, pastor conducted the service assisted by Rev. Duncan of the Highland church. Anna Wilhemina Catharine Thesfeld was born in Germany March 26, 1851 and died February 21, 1936 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.B. Carlisle, near Binger at the age of 84 years, 10 months and 20 days. She came to America when 20 years old, settling at Warrenton, Missouri. On February 12, 1875 she was married to Herman H. Hoelscher and to this union were born four children. They are Herman Hoelscher of Ft. Cobb; Mrs. E.B. Carlisle of Binger; Mrs. Adelia Schwab of Alfalfa and Malinda, who died in childhood. The husband and father preceded her in death on March 4, 1921. She also leaves five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, besides many, many friends and acquaintances. She attended the Lutheran church regularly in childhood. After her marriage she and her husband became members of the Evangelical church at Warrenton, Mo. which membership was never changed. They were always faithful and devout in their worship of the son of God and attended services wherever they made their home. |

Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, January 9, 1957 Herman G. Hoelscher Services Held For H. D. Hoelscher At Fort Cobb Fort Cobb- - Final rites were held for H.D. Hoelscher, Retired Fort Cobb farmer. Rev. Clare Payette, pastor, in charge. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery near Fort Cobb. Mr. Hoelscher, 82, had been in his usual health Thursday when his son, Wallace, saw him. He died shortly before midnight in his home where he lived alone. He was born November 30, 1874, in Warrenton, Mo., and married Miss Emily Jane Pearce in 1903 at Kingfisher. He had lived in the Fort Cobb community since 1915. Mrs. Hoelscher preceded him in death June 12, 1955. He was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include two sons; Wallace of Fort Cobb, and Elmer of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Mrs. Adelia Hancock, Alfalfa, and Mrs. Agusta Carlisle, Binger; 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. |
