Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, February 8, 1978 Ruth A. [Johnson] Hodges Rites Held For Cobb Woman Funeral services for Ruth Ann Hodges, 92, of Fort Cobb were at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church of Fort Cobb, with the Rev. Jim McAllister, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Fort Cobb Cemetery under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home. Mrs. Hodges died Friday in the Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital. She was born at Batesville, Ark., on Feb. 5, 1885, and grew up there. She was married at Batesville on Feb. 21, 1904, to U.C. Hodges. The couple lived in Arkansas 20 years and Texas five years before moving to Caddo County in 1918. Mrs. Hodges had lived here ever since. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1952 and one son, Elmer, in 1968. She was a member of the Fort Cobb Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, A.M. of Rialto, Calif., Woodrow of Phoenix, Ariz., M.L. of Leon and M.C. of Fort Cobb; one daughter, Mrs. Homer Taylor of Phoenix; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. |

Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, October 8, 1969 Oscar Robert Hodges Oscar Hodges was the son of William and Laura Hodges in West Plains, MO and came to Oklahoma in early manhood and settled in the Alfalfa community. He married Lula Setzer on August 21, 1910 at Hobart. He was preceded in death by his wife and two infant children. He was married to Liddie Tidwell, former resident of Eakly, on April 29, 1968. Father of Mary Ann Burton of Bakersfield, CA and Addie Ellen Turner of Rockport, TX and Lewis Robert Hodges of Planada, CA. |

Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, June 3, 1964 David Stanley Hodges Charter Member Of Oney Church Dies Thursday Funeral services for David Stanley Hodges, 74, years old, were held at 2p.m. Thursday at the Oney Baptist church, where he was a charter member. Rev. Dois Nix officiated, assisted by Rev. Lee Slaten. Burial was in the Fort Cobb cemetery. Military rites were held at the cemetery. He was a veteran of World War I. Hodges had been ill for sometime before his death Tuesday at the Anadarko hospital. Hodges, who was a farmer, was born in Farmersville, La. He is survived by his wife, Ninnie of the home; three sons, Dick Hodges of Fort Cobb, Thomas Hodges of Oklahoma City, and Raymond Hodges of Muleshoe, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Emmie Bradley, Chickasha, a nephew, County Judge Dewey Hodges, Anadarko, and seven grandchildren. Singing was furnished by the King Brother's quarter, accompanied by Mrs. Warren King at the piano. |

Herald Carnegie, Oklahoma Wednesday, December 27, 1961 Lula Margarett [Setzer] Hodges Lula Margarett Setzer was born July 25, 1892, near White Plains, Mo. She came to the Oklahoma Territory at an early age. On August 22, 1910, she was married to Oscar R. Hodges of Alfalfa. Five children were born to them, two preceding her in death. Her children-Lewis Hodges, Wilburton, OK; Mrs. Mary Ann Bruton, Eloy, AR and Mrs. Wade Turner, Rockport, Texas. Her brother, Walter Setzer, Alfalfa and sister, Mrs. J. R. Blair, Tranquillity, Calif. |
