DESPONDENCY CAUSE OF SUICIDE TUESDAY

J.F. ERVINE, aged 72, who was born in Indiana Nov. 10, 1856, died at His home in Washita Tuesday evening as a result of self-inflicted gunshot wounds caused from despondency over ill health.

Deceased had been working on the section until a few weeks ago when he was forced to quit owing to failing health.

Tuesday evening all members of the family were out of the room and he procured an automatic revolver and sent a bullet through his brain, killing him instantly.

He is survived by his wife and two sons, DOCK IRVINE [sic] of Colorado Springs and TOM [sic] of Little River, Kansas and one daughter, MRS. BELLE SCHOONOVER of Washita.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home today [Wednesday] by REV. E.E. DAVIDSON of Anadarko and interment will be in the Fort Cobb cemetery under the direction of Farmer & Grimmett, funeral directors.
