Hazel [Jackson] Easterling
Graveside services for Hazel Jackson Easterling, 94, will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ft. Cobb Cemetery.
Visitations will be held at the Fort Cobb Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, from 6-8 p.m.
Hazel was born January 14, 1909 in Beggs to J.N. and Cora Jackson and died March 30, 2003 in Vacaville, California in her daughter's home where she had resided the past three years. She was the last surviving member of her family of twelve.
She moved to Caddo County at the age of two in 1911. She attended Oak View School, west of Fort Cobb as did her son and daughter. She married Willard Easterling October 21, 1924 in Anadarko. Her son William Leonard was born in 1926 and died in 1991. Jada Yvonne was born in 1936.
She is survived by her daughter Yvonne and her husband, John Fatheree of Vacaville, California; her daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Easterling of Fort Cobb; her granddaughters and their husbands, Lucy and Danny Clinton, Carnegie, Jennifer and Rick Johnson, Vacaville, California, great grandchildren Amy and Kris Leck, Kingfisher, Jason Clinton, Coyle, Jessica and Ricky Johnson of Vacaville, California and great great granddaughter, Sicily Ann Leck of Kingfisher; and a host of special nieces and nephews and friends.

Mary Jean [Ratliff] Easterling
Mary Jean Ratliff Easterling, 89, of Fort Cobb passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma.
She was born on August 7, 1928, the third daughter to Thomas Frank and Mary "Maggie" Wilson Ratliff southwest of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma near the South Pioneer School on Gawkey Creek.
She attended grade school at South Pioneer School. Her family moved to Eastern Oklahoma and she graduated the 8th grade from Big Cabin School. They moved back to Fort Cobb and she graduated from Fort Cobb High School in 1946. She continued her education at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in home economics in December, 1949.
She taught home economics for a year and a half at Sand Springs before returning to Fort Cobb to marry Leonard Easterling on July 4, 1951. To this union one child, Lucy, was born.
He preceded her in death on December 25, 1991.
In 1956 Mary Jean went to work as a Home Economist with Oklahoma State Extension Service. She worked in Hobart and Lawton before she was placed close to home in Anadarko. Mary Jean retired from Oklahoma State Extension Service in January 1988 after 32 years.
She was a very active member of the Fort Cobb Improvement Club. For many years she hauled water and watered the barrels on Fort Cobb's Main Street. She served in all of the offices of the Garden Club and also served as Southwest District Garden Club Treasurer for several terms. She loved being a part of Lawton Book and Play Review. She and Leonard delighted in going to basketball games and collecting.
Marcella Stockton was a very special friend. They roomed together in college and ate breakfast together every Friday morning.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Mary Lucille "Lucy" and Danny Clinton of Carnegie, OK. Her grandson, Jason Clinton and his wife, Jamie, of Fort Cobb, OK; her granddaughter, Amy and her husband Kris Leck, of Kingfisher, OK. Her very special great-grandchildren, Sicily and Cale that always delighted her. Her sisters; Frankie Conrad and her husband, Paul of Canyon Lake, TX.; Wanda King, Yukon, OK; Norma Harris and her husband, A.C, of Hobart, OK and her only brother, Tom Ratliff, Fort Cobb, OK and his wife, Sue, who she considered a "sister". She was blessed with a very special sister-in-law, Yvonne "Tommye" Fatheree, Vacaville, CA. She was a very close friend although they lived mostly far apart. She is also survived by twenty one nieces and nephews.
