Rites For Pioneer Fort Cobb Woman Are Held Monday
FORT COBB- Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Dardis, pioneer resident of Fort Cobb were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Fort Cobb funeral home chapel. Rev. Ted Ewing, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Claire Payette, Methodist pastor. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery.
Mrs. Dardis, 88 years old, had been in poor health for some time. She had been deaf and blind for several years. She died Sunday in the home of her daughter with whom she had lived since her husband passed away.
She was born November 2, 1869, in Franklin county, Tennessee.
She was married to Frank W. Dardis on May 6, 1906, in Franklin county. In 1914 they moved to Fort Cobb where he practiced dentistry.
Survivors include the daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ray, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.
