© The Fort Cobb Express Page 1, Fort Cobb, Oklahoma Thursday, June 21, 1927 1820 ~ 1927 Henry Harrison Chronister died at his farm home three miles east and a half mile south of Fort Cobb, last Monday morning at the extreme advanced age of 107 years, 4 months and 12 days. Mr Chronister, who was born in Pennsylvania, was one of the very earliest settlers in Caddo County, having homesteaded the farm on which he died. His was a long and active life; up to a few years ago he was doing his own work. He was of robust build, being about 6 feet tall and weighing over 200 pounds until a short time ago. His last appearance was last February. Surviving him are his wife, one son, Frank, living at Shidler, and one daughter, Ida, and two grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev Compton, and interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery. |

Georgia, who died Monday. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Fort Cobb under the direction of Smith Funeral chapel. Rev Cecil J. Coover will officiate. Survivors include one son, Beaty Chronister, Horse Creek, California; a daughter, Mrs Ima Chronister Wood, Tulsa; a sister Ida B. Chronister, Tulsa; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. |
© The Fort Cobb News Page 1 Anadarko, Oklahoma Thursday, February 8, 1962 September 25, 1875 ~ February 6, 1962 Word has been received here of the death of Miss Ida B. Chronister if Tulsa. She passed awsy at 6:20 pm on February 6. Miss Chronister came to Fort Cobb with her parents and her brother, Frank when the country first opened. They lived east of town. Survivors include a niece Mrs Ima C. Wood of Tulsa and a newphew, Beaty Chrinister. Services will be held in Tulsa. Graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Fort Cobb at 2 pm, Friday, February 9. |
