Helen Marie Tully
June 20, 1915 ~ August 27, 1968


Helen Marie Tully, daughter of Eugenia Tully, was born June 20, 1915, on a farm near Alden.

After graduating from Alden high school, she attended Hill's Business college in Oklahoma City. She later was employed in the office of Sen. Mike Monroney in Washington, D.C. and for AirCorporation in Oklahoma City and Arlington, TX. She had been working for the Federal Aeronautics Administration in Oklahoma City.

She was the sister of Stephen, George and Robert of Carnegie, James of El Reno, and Lawrence of Apache. Niece of Mrs. W.F. Campbell of Carnegie, Mrs. E.J. Flaherty and Anionette Timmer of Los Angeles.

Lawrence Richard "LR" Tully
December 14, 1922 ~ August 22, 2017


Lawrence Richard Tully "LR", a longtime resident of the Alden community near Apache, Oklahoma, died on Tuesday, August 22, at Cedar Ridge Retirement Community, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

LR was born near Apache on December 14th, 1922, to Stephen Chauncey and Eugenia [Timmer] Tully.

After graduation from high school, LR entered the US Army Air Corps. He was an air traffic controller at Harlingen, TX Pilot Cadet Training Facility.

In 1947, after serving 4 years, he returned to the Alden community, married Dawn Strickland and raised their family.

LR farmed and ranched south of Carnegie, in the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, which he dearly loved. He was a very independent, self-reliant and hard working individual. His wonderful sense of humor was well appreciated by all.

One of the highlights of his life was living in Angel Fire, NM, where he enjoyed his retirement and spending time with his family and friends. They returned to Oklahoma in 1992 and settled in the Lake Lawtonka area. Lawrence and Dawn moved to Tulsa in 2002 where they remained, surrounded by their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lawrence was well respected, fun loving and a wonderful husband. He was also a great father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and was always a friend.

Lawrence is survived by children Scott, Randy and Sheri; daughters-in-law Terry M. Tully and Terri B. Tully; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dawn, their son Stephen and great-granddaughter Brianna Dawn.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28, at 1:00 pm, at Crews Funeral Home Chapel, Apache, with Deacon Tom Biles officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

The funeral home will be open for viewing on Sunday from 1-7 P.M. and Monday from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

There will be a visitation from 12:00 P.M. until service time for friends and family.

Marilyn Jean Tully

APACHE - Funeral for Marilyn Jean Tully, 62, Edmond, will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Apache, with the Rev. Prakash Madineni officiating.

Ms. Tully died Friday, February 13, 2009, in Edmond.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home of Apache.

She was born July 31, 1946, in Anadarko, to George and Verna [Bennett] Tully.

She grew up on the family ranch south of Carnegie. She loved the ranch and spent many hours riding horses, checking cattle with her father and seeing all the wild deer and turkeys.

She attended Alden Public School until the fifth grade when her family moved to Carnegie.

During her high school years she was the organist at St. Richard's Catholic Church in Carnegie.

She graduated from Carnegie High School in 1964 and attended the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a master's degree in accounting.

She became a certified public accountant [CPA] and worked in Oklahoma City for a few years before moving to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she opened her own business as a CPA. In 1991, she moved back to Oklahoma but continued to travel back and forth to Hawaii. She was a worldwide traveler and saw many places. She had a big heart and loved doing for others; in her death she continued to give by leaving her estate to the St. Gregory's Catholic College Scholarship Fund.
