Lucille Edna [Hatfield] Stellner
June 25, 1931 ~ April 8, 2015

Lucille Edna Stellner, 83 of Norman, passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in her home.

Survivors include her sister Barbara Kissler of Weatherford, her sister-in-law Francis Hatfield of Apache, daughter Cheryl Stellner of Norman, son Kevin Stellner and Daughter-in-law Alison Stellner of Houston, Texas, grandson Joel Stellner of Austin, Texas and granddaughter Kara Stellner and her husband Shaun Colley of Luxembourg. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Stellner, her brother Dean Hatfield, her sister Faye Bond and her husband Walter Bond, and her brother-in-law Calvin Kissler.

The first child of Hazel and Forest Hatfield, Lucille Edna was born on June 25, 1931 in Lookeba, Oklahoma. Tenacious and strong, Lucille grew up to be an accomplished athlete. Her talent landed her a scholarship to college where she would meet her coach Lowell Stellner who would become her beloved husband and partner of 48 years. After having a daughter, Cheryl and 7 years later a son, Kevin, Lucille and Lowell moved to Norman to create their family home and live out their rest of their years.

To her dear nieces and nephews she was "Aunt Cille", to many of her friends and co-workers she was "Lu" and to her two children she was simply "Mom". But her most prized name was given to her later in life by her first grandson, Joel as soon as he could speak . . ."Nana". She loved the role of Nana more than just about anything else in this world and made that known in many ways to the objects of her devotion and affection, Joel and Kara.

Whether you knew her as Lucille, Aunt Cille, Lu or Nana, the one thing you knew if you were in her close circle is that she never, ever wanted you to lack for anything and would do her very best to ensure your needs were met, your clothes were warm and clean, and your belly was full. Her greatest fear would be that anyone would have to fuss or be inconvenienced by her life or her passing. So in true Lucille form, she took care of everything and everyone for this final day of her life so her family could enjoy her memory totally stress free.

"For all you were, for all you've done, for the children you raised and the love you passed on, Lucille Edna Hatfield, we are grateful for your heart, your life and the legacy of giving you leave with us, the blessed ones to have been loved by you.""
