Home Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma September 2014 Charles Rickey "Rick" Schumann January 24, 1951 ~ January 4, 2015 Charles Rickey Schumann Of Apache, Oklahoma Was born January 24, 1951 in Lawton, OK to Fred Gilbert and Lois Elizabeth [Bridges] Schumann. He passed away at his home in Apache on January 4th at the age of 63. Rick grew up in Fletcher where he graduated from high school. He served in the Army Reserves for a few years. He married Karla Gwinn Burd on October 16, 1981 in Fletcher, OK. He was a paint contractor, owning his own business, Rick Schumann Painting. He enjoyed racing mini-sprints for a number of years, and recently, had taken up off-road UTV riding with family and friends. He also liked watching NASCAR and various sports, and was an OU fan. Rick loved spending time with his family and friends, and could be found hanging out at his shop with his buddies working on his latest project. He was well-known for his generous spirit, always willing to help out anyone with a need. He set a tremendous example by being a great father and husband. He is survived by: His wife, Karla, of the home 3 daughters- Lisa and husband, Chad Austin, Apache, OK Jena Red Elk, Maysville, OK Rikki Schumann, Medicine, Park, OK 5 grandchildren - Rylee Elizabeth Red Elk, Ryan Lyn Red Elk, Reese Ivey Red Elk, Ricky Dale Cooper, Brady Lane Peregoy, 1 brother and his wife- Butch and Jane Schumann, Del Rio, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 8th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery at Apache under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity at 1006 SW E Ave. in Lawton, OK 73505 or your local Habitat for Humanity site. |
