Dorothy Annabelle [Pettit] Long

Dorothy Annabelle Long of Edmond went home to Jesus on December 4, 2005. Annabelle was born January 22, 1908, near Tonkawa, OK to Marion and Bertha (Van Pelt) Pettit.

In 1919 she and her family moved to a farm (and attended) Apache High School in 1925. After attending Business College in Anadarko she married Glen Long in 1927.

During WWII, she worked for Douglas Aircraft at Tinker Field. After the war, she was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital where she retired with 25 years of service. She then moved back to her beloved Apache, OK where she lived until 1996 when she moved to Edmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marjorie Herman; sons Marion Jay (Jimmy) Long and Kenneth Ronald Long; grandson Darrell Jay Rich and great grandson, Matthew Fowlkes.

She is survived by her daughters / sons in law, Dorothy and Ben Little of Edmond, Belva and Dale Rich of Edmond, ten grandchildren / spouses, Linda and Bob Yokley of Midwest City, Catherine and Ron Jaques of Broken Arrow, Sandra and Dan Abbot of Newcastle, Kurt Long and JoAnna Long of Bethany, Rob and Pat Fowlkes of Edmond, Denise and Bruce Johnson of Piedmont, Deborah and Rickie Conrady of Edmond, Dale Rich Jr., of Garland TX, Barbara Lahr of Plano TX, 18 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Also surviving is her sister Irma Holland of Apache, special nephews Charles Herman of Cyril, Pat and Barbara Holland of Apache, Kenneth and Paula Holland of Apache.

We wish to thank the staff of Vista hospice and Bradford Village (Okla Christian Home) for their loving care and support for the past five years.

Service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 p.m. Wed., Dec.7, 2005 at the First Christian Church of Apache. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's study at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, 825 NE 13th, OKC 73104.

Marion J. "Jim" Long , born October 9, 1928, died December 31, 1993 at Oklahoma City.

Preceded in death by his wife, Adelphia in 1979.

Member of Calvary Baptist Church of Newcastle.

Survived by 3 daughters, Linda Yokley, Midwest City, Cathy Jaques, Tulsa, Sandra Abbott, Blanchard; 8 grandchildren, 1 great grand- daughter; his mother, Annabelle Long, Apache, 2 sisters, Dorothy Little, Vian, Belva Rich, Garland, Tx.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. in Fairview Cemetery, Apache. Under the direction of Crews Funeral Home, Apache.
