Apache, Oklahoma August 2018 June 11, 1921 ~ August 23, 2018 Esther Elizabeth Huber of Apache, Oklahoma was born June 11, 1921 at Anthers, Oklahoma to Julus "JC' Clayton Melton and Zora Lucas Melton. She passed away August 23, 2018 at age 97. Esther was a cook for the Apache school system. She is survived by Leon Steve Huber Sr. and wife Mary and Daughter in law Paula Huber. Grandson Leon Steve Huber Jr., Eric Keith Huber, Jason Robert Huber, Juston Huber, Melissa Rochele Huber, Natasha Huber, Bridget Huber, Seven Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Stancel Leon ''Hap-Happy'' Huber her parents and son Robert Melton Huber. Esther was known for her kindness, honesty and her straight forward manner, but was respected and resulted in numerous friends. Esther loved quilting and crochet, knitting and she loved her church. Funeral services will be held Monday August 27, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Apache at 10:00 am with Rev Bud Jones officiating. |
© Crews Funeral Home Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma August 2008 December 8, 1922 ~ August 11, 2008 APACHE -- Funeral for Warren Dean Huber, 85, Apache, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Crews Funeral Home Chapel, Apache. Mr. Huber died Monday, Aug. 11, 2008, in Lawton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. He was born December 8, 1922, in Apache, to Herman and Margaret Huber. He graduated from Apache High School and served in the Navy during World War II as a radioman. He received several commendations including, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 6 Stars and Philippine Liberation Campaign with 2 Stars. He married Wilma Davis on December 16, 1950. He worked for Public Service Company of Oklahoma for 32 years, retiring in 1984. Survivors include a son, Rodney Huber, Lawton; a daughter, Cynthia Huber, Lawton; four grandchildren: Becki Huber, Tiffany Escoe, Jennifer Huber-McMenamin and Travis Huber; two great-grandchildren: Justyn McMenamin and Jeri Dawn McMenamin; a brother, Maurice Huber; two sisters: Marjorie Palesano and Dorothy Hanson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Royce Huber; his parents; five brothers: Wendell Huber, Stancel "Hap" Huber, Willis "Bill" Huber, Michael Huber and Donald Huber; and two sisters: Verna Mahler and Lola Williams. |
© Crews Funeral Home Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma July 2014 May 27, 1933 ~ July 22, 2014 Maurice Lee Huber of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was born May 27, 1933 in Apache, OK to Herman and Margaret [Goble] Huber. He passed away July 22, 2014 in Oklahoma City at the age of 81. Maurice served in the Army during the Korean War. After his service, Maurice attended Cameron University then Central State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree. He married Patricia Ann Bailey December 20, 1953. She preceded him in death September 3, 2008. He worked for Sears since 1957 as a Merchandiser and Buyer for their Automotive department. He retired in 1985. Maurice loved working on cars. He began working on cars, helping his brothers when he was 5 years old. He especially enjoyed restoring Mustangs. He also enjoyed golfing and reading, especially World War II history. He kept a huge garden, and would come to Apache to work it even after moving to Oklahoma City. It was not unusual for him to give away most of his vegetables while making his way visiting people around Apache. Maurice was also a huge OKC Thunder fan, even arranging family gatherings around games. He was also a member of Knob Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. He is survived by: 3 sons and their wives - Fred and Kim Huber Clinton, OK, Wes and Lora Huber Tulsa, OK, Jeff and Lori Huber Oklahoma City, OK; 1 daughter and her husband - Janna and Danny Charles Mustang, OK; 10 grandchildren - Joe and Lindy Charles, Becky and Brandon Wilson, Steven and Kinsey Charles, Nathan and Melody Huber, Vanessa and Travis Randle, Blake Huber, Jennifer Huber, Jason and Shanleigh Huber, Jessica and Jeremy McQuerry, Jamie Huber; 13 great-granchdchildren - Braxdyn Huber, Kytalynn Huber, Adelynn Huber, Laighlynn Huber, Grace Wilson, Avery Wilson, Eli Charles, Davie Charles, Lucas Charles, Landon Huber, Adrian Randle, Bradley Randle, Corey Randle; 1 sister - Cindy Huber Oklahoma City, OK; 1 brother-in-law and his wife - Stanley and Betty Bailey Cyril, OK; 6 sisters-in-law - Esther Huber Apache, OK, Imogene Huber Lawton, OK, June Myers Oklahoma City, OK, Wilda Bailey Apache, OK, Beverly Bailey Norman, OK, Robin Bailey Apache, OK, Many nieces and nephews And lifelong friends - Harold and Virginia Busby and girls Nederland, TX. She passed away on September 3, 2008, in Oklahoma City. Pat graduated from Apache High School in 1951. She went to work at the First National Bank of Apache. She married Maurice Huber, on December 20, 1953, they moved to Germany while he served in the Army there. They moved back to Oklahoma and she went to work at the Ft. Sill National Bank until they moved to Oklahoma City in 1957. Pat worked at Union Bank and then worked as a secretary at John Glenn Elementary School for many years. She went back into the banking business in 1989 at the Stockyards Bank, now called UMB until she retired in 1993 with over 40 years of experience. Pat was a member of the Knob Hill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where she served as their Sunday School Director for several years. She loved flower gardening, cooking, sewing and traveling. She enjoyed photography and playing piano. Her greatest love was her family. She loved taking care of not only her own husband and children, but her entire family. Pat is survived by husband of the home, Maurice Huber 1 daughter, Jana and Danny Charles, Mustang, OK 3 sons, Fred and Kim Huber, Clinton, OK,Wes and Cheryl Huber, Tulsa, OK, Jeff and Lori Huber, Oklahoma City, OK 10 grandchildren, Joe Charles, Becky Charles Wilson, Steven Charles, Nathan Huber, Vanessa Huber, Blake Huber, Jennifer Huber, Jason Huber, Jessica Huber and Jamie Huber 6 great-grandchildren, Braxdyn Huber, Kytalynn Huber, Grace Wilson, Avery Wilson, Eli Charles and Davie Charles 3 brothers, Lawrence Bailey, Albuquerque, NM, Dick and Wilda Bailey, Apache, OK, Stanley and Betty Bailey, Cyril, OK 1 sister, June and Jack Myers, Oklahoma City, OK.
