Mrs. Kolb's Grandfather Buried At Apache Sunday

Mrs. Herman Kolb went to Apache where she attended the funeral Sunday of her grandfather, F.M. Hill, 80 who passed away there Friday.

Mr. Hill had lived in Apache since the town was established in 1901, it is said.

He was known as an early day Indian trader, operating before the opening of this part of the state.

C.B. "Tip" Hill Funeral Services Held October 3

Funeral services for Clifton B "Tip" Hill, 79, were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 1990, at the Oak Street Church of Christ with Jack McKeown officiating and assisted by Larry Thomason.

Mr. Hill died at his home north of Apache October 1, 1990, after an extended illness.

He was born Dec. 29, 1910, at Davidson, Tennessee, and came with his parents to Granite in 1919. He graduated from Ozark Public Schools in 1931 and serviced at the Church at Washita for 24 years.

He was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ.

He married Helen Frances Cook on May 15, 1943, at her family home north of Apache. They farmed in the Broxton Community for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Helen, of the home; one daughter, a daughter living in Edmond; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, and two sons.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Crews Funeral Home.

Helen E. Hill Funeral Services Held March 16

Helen Frances Hill, 77, funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 1996, at the Oak Street Church of Christ with Paul Jackson officiating.

Mrs. Hill died March 14, 1996, at her home four miles north of Apache.

She was born Feb. 26, 1919 five miles north of Apache.

She was married to C. B. "Tip" Hill on May 15, 1943 at her parents' home five miles north of Apache. He preceded her in death Oct. 1, 1990.

She taught school at Broxton for three years and at Apache for one year.

Mrs. Hill was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ.

She is survived one daughter and son-in-law of Edmond, two sisters, Alberta Love Dodge of Warren, Texas, and Ruth Ann Sawyer of Apache; one brother, Ted R. Cook of Warren, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons and her parents.

Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Jenny Belle [Roberts] Hill
June 11, 1925 ~ December 25, 2014


Jennie Hill Of Apache, Oklahoma Was born June 11, 1925 in Gadsden, AL to John Norris and Olie Cornellia [McClusky] Roberts. She passed away at the Weatherford Living Center in Weatherford, OK on December 25th at the age of 89.

After graduating from high school, she attended business school at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

She married Arthur Wilbur Hill on May 25, 1946 in Roosevelt, OK. He preceded her in death on February 29, 1988.

She worked as a teacher’s aide at the Alden School before going to work at T.H. Rogers Lumber Yard in Apache at their bookkeeper. After the lumber yard closed, she went to work for the Apache Coop until her retirement.

Jennie was a member of the Boone Home Demonstration Club. She also belonged to the Stitch in Time sewing club and quilted at the Low Rent housing community center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. She was also a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by: 1 son and his wife - Jimmy and Linda Hill, West of Apache, OK 2 granddaughters and their husbands - Marcy and J. Pye Heather and Michael Simmons, 2 great-grandchildren - Meredith Pye and Jefferson Pye, 2 sisters - Frances Herrod, Owasso, OK Kate and husband, Wayne Stafford, Houston, TX 1 sister-in-law- Hazel Roberts, Hobart, OK Thelma Wingo, Wichita Falls, TX.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents Her husband 1 son - Ronald Hill, 2 brothers - Bill Roberts, Jack Roberts, 2 sisters - Mildred Dennison, Shirley Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 28th at 4:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry Glasgow officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Ronald Wayne Hill
April 24, 1947 ~ June 28, 1972


Ronnie Hill, a commercial helicopter pilot, was killed Wednesday in the ill-fated search for an off shore worker who fell from a barge anchored 80 miles off the coast south of Cameron, La.

Ronnie Hill was born April 24, 1947 at Hobart.

Following graduation from Apache high school in 1965, he attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman, two years.

While serving in the United States Army, Hill was stationed in Vietnam with the Aviation Battalion of the First Air Cavalry and was awarded the Bronze Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and 26 air medals, including one from the government of South Vietnam.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Authur Hill of Apache; a brother, Jimmy of Oklahoma City, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hill of Apache, and Mrs. J.M. Roberts of Roosevelt.
