© Crews Funeral Home Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma April 2010 July 25, 1933 ~ April 30, 2010 June Grover of Apache, Oklahoma was born July 25, 1933 southwest of Apache in rural Comanche county to George William and Mildred Inez [Moser] Gilman. She passed away on April 30th in Amarillo, TX at the age of 76. She attended the Chandler district school west of Apache until she moved in to Apache where she graduated from Apache High School. She married Orval Grover, Jr. on October 9, 1952 in Lawton, OK. He was in the military and she traveled with him many places, including Germany. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1989. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for several years. She also took care of a multitude of children over the years that were affectionately known as "Juney's Kids". She was a faithful member of the Oak Street Church of Christ June was a doll collector. She created and hand-made outfits for her dolls, even down to the tiny shoes. She loved to crochet and knit and was good at repairing jewelry. She is survived by:Her son - George Charles and wife, Clarice Grover Borger, TX; One Grandson - G.W. and wife, Kacee Grover Borger, TX; Two great-grandchildren - Jarah Ashlyn Grover and Landen Reese Grover; 2 Sisters - Marie and husband, Dale Campbell, Anadarko, OK & Peggy and husband, Arthur "Cactus" Duggan Edmond, OK; 1 Nephew - James and wife, Jody Duggan Edmond, OK She was preceded in death by - Her grandparents, Charlie and Julia Moser; Her parents, George and Mildred Gilma; Her Husband, Orval Grover, Jr.; 2 Nephews-Ricky Campbell and Steve Campbell. Services will be held Tuesday, May 4th at 2:00 P.M. at the Oak Street Church of Christ with Roy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. |
