Dealis Adrain Ferrell
September 4, 1922 ~ October 11, 1990



Dealis Adrian Farrell, 68, of Sapulpa, died Thursday at a Tulsa Hospital following a short illness.

Mr. Farrell was born Sep 4, 1922, in Apache. He married Jane Shockley on June 14, 1945, in Anadarko.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Minneapolis in the Pacific. He was also a retired pipeline inspector. He and his wife moved to Sapulpa in 1965.

Survivors include wife Jane; daughters Nancy Roberson and Pat Farrell, both of Sapulpa; son James Farrell of Anadarko; brother Dalton H. Farrell of Apache; six grandchildren; and two treat-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 am Sat. at Fairview Cemetery in Apache, with Dr. David Nixon officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Dalton Henry Ferrell
November 9, 1923 ~ December 16, 2009


APACHE Funeral for Dalton Henry Ferrell, 86, Apache, will be at 2 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Apache with the Rev. Bud Jones officiating.

Mr. Ferrell died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, in Lawton.

Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

He was born November 9, 1923, in Wardville, to Marshall Adrian and Mabel Cooper Ferrell.

As a young man, he loved footraces. He even won Gold Track Shoe medals at the county fair. He was a very good athlete.

He served in the Navy during World War II with the Pacific Fleet on the USS Ammen, as a seaman first class. His ship was deployed to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, right after the attack of December 7, to assist in clean-up and recovery operations. He also witnessed the flag-raising on Iwo Jima. A Japanese Kamikaze plane flew into the destroyer on which he was stationed. It was only one of two ships out of seven destroyers that survived an attack in the Pacific known as the Battle of the Sacrificial Lambs. Some 15,000 sailors died.

After his discharge from the service, he returned to Oklahoma.

He married Thelma Jean Huckleberry on November 25, 1950, in Anadarko.

He worked for HollyTex in Anadarko as a truck driver and hyster operator until he retired in 1986.

He enjoyed several hobbies, including hunting, fishing and watching sports. He especially liked to train and race horses. He was an excellent rifleman and passed that skill down to his children and grandchildren.

He was a loving family man and appreciated spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was a man of few words, but, when he spoke, his words were filled with wisdom.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lynn and Christy Ferrell, and Mark and Linda Ferrell, all Apache; two daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and John Price, Apache; and Trisha and Darrell Nightingale, Lawton; 11 grandchildren and their spouses: Christi and Scott Franklin, Jason and Tara Price, Jory and Joy Ferrell, Toby and Ashley Ferrell, Jerrod and Noel Price, Ryan and Gabrielle Nightingale, Josh and Jenny Price, Chad and Andrea Nightingale, Justin and Caly Price, Andi Ferrell and Misty and Bobby Lamont; 14 great-grandchildren: Preslea Franklin, McCartney Franklin, Chase Price, Gage Price, Alexa Ferrell, Jake Ferrell, Dalton Ferrell, Madilyn Price, Jayli Nightingale, Aiden Nightingale, Brennan Price, Barkley Price, Brooke Price and Merik Lamont; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dealis Ferrell; and a sister, Jean Henderson.

Mary Jane [Peppers] Ferrell
March 22, 1924 ~ May 1, 1995


Graveside services for Mary Jane Ferrell, 71, of Sapulpa were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 1995, in Fairview Cemetery, Apache, with the Rev. Alvin Roberts officiating under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ferrell died May 1, 1995 in Sapulpa after a lengthy illness.

She was born on March 22, 1924 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and married Dealis Adrian Ferrell on June 14, 1945, in Anadarko. He preceded her in death October 11. 1990.

Mrs. Ferrell worked at T.G. & Y. for 20 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Sapulpa.

Survivors include: one son, James Ferrell of Anadarko; two daughters, Nancy Roberson and Pat Ferrell of Sapulpa; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Geneva Starns and Linda Stone of Lebanon, Mo., and Sherry Brown of Eldridge, Missouri.

Thelma Jean [Huckleberry] Ferrell
January 10, 1933 ~ March 21, 2020


Thelma Jean Ferrell passed from this earth to her heavenly home on March 21, 2020, at the age of 87.

The family will have a private burial with a celebration service at a later date. Viewing will be Tuesday, March 24, from 9:00-6:00 at the Crews Funeral Home in Apache, OK.

She was born on January 10, 1933, in Konawa, OK to George and Mearl Huckleberry. She and her family moved to the Broxton/Apache area when she was a young girl. Thelma attended Broxton schools before she married Dalton H. Ferrell on November 25, 1950, in Anadarko. They remained in the Stecker/Broxton/Apache area the rest of their lives. They were happily married for 59 years before Dalton passed in 2009.

Thelma’s greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved her church; it was a very important part of her life. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and fishing. She loved to collect different/unique pitchers and brooches. She would wear a different brooch every day, even while at home.

She had a servant’s heart; no one ever came to her house that she didn’t invite them to stay and eat. She loved to cook and wanted others to enjoy her food. Thelma shared her gift of cooking while she was a cafeteria cook/manager at Broxton Public Schools for many years.

Thelma is survived by her children: Lynn and Christy Ferrell, Sandy and John Price, Mark and the late Linda Ferrell, and Trisha and Darrell Nightingale; grandchildren: Jory and Joy Ferrell, Toby and Ashley Ferrell, Andi Ferrell, Jason and Tara Price, Jerrod and Noelle Price, Joshua and Jenny Price, Justin and Caly Price, Christi and Scott Franklin, Misty and Bobby Lamont, Ryan and Gabrielle Nightingale, Chad and Andrea Nightingale; great grandchildren: Alexa Ferrell, Jake Ferrell, Dalton Ferrell, Chase Price, Gage Price, Madilyn Price, Harper Price, Brennan Price, Barkley Price, Brooke Price, Elaina Price, Preslea Franklin, McCartney Franklin, Merik Lamont, Dayson Lamont, Jayli Nightingale, Aiden Nightingale, Colby Nightingale, Alayna Nightingale, and Adalyn Nightingale; her first great-great grandchild; brother, Jerry and Louise Huckleberry; sister, Georgia Bullock; sister-in-law, Marsha Huckleberry; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Delphia and Bernice Turpin, Wilma and Marvin Stubblefield; brother, Pete Huckleberry; sister-in-law, Carla Huckleberry; infant sister, Mildred Huckleberry; and daughter-in-law, Linda Ferrell.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jory Ferrell, Toby Ferrell, Andi Ferrell, Jason Price, Jerrod Price, Joshua Price, Justin Price, Christi Franklin, Misty Lamont, Ryan Nightingale, and Chad Nightingale.

Her favorite Bible verse was: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble. Psalm 46:1.

Patsy Sue Ferrell
March 17, 1949 ~ July 10, 2012


Patsy Sue Ferrell of Apache, Oklahoma was born March 17, 1949 to Dealis Adrian and Mary Jane [Peppers] Ferrell. She passed away at her home on July 10, 2012 at the age of 63.

Pat attended technical school and earned her Associate's Degree in Electronics. She worked for Burtek, Inc. as a flight trainer fabricator. She also delivered newspapers for the Tulsa World Tribune and later the Daily Oklahoman.

Pat enjoyed fishing and hunting. She liked working with her hands and was skilled at woodworking. She also liked to play video games and go to the casino.

She loved spending time with her family and close friends.

She is survived by: 1 adopted son - PO3 Joshua Ferrell Okinawa, Japan; 1 brother and his wife - James and Barbara Ferrell Anadarko, OK; 1 sister - Nancie Roberson Pauls Valley, OK; 1 Great Aunt - Thelma Ferrell Apache, OK; Many nieces and nephews; Her close friend and long-time roommate - Sharon Coplen Apache, OK.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents; Great Uncle Dalton Ferrell; Nephew - Steve Roberson.

The family will have a private committal at a later date.

Linda Jean [Hodges] Ferrell
September 10, 1951 ~ March 3, 2020


Linda Jean [Hodges] Ferrell was born September 10, 1951, in Anadarko, Oklahoma, to Harold Eugene and Twila Belle [Repp] Hodges. She passed away on Tuesday, March 3, with her family by her side at her home in Apache. She was 68.


Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 5, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Crews Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 6, at 10:00 A.M. at the Apache Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Caleb McDowell officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crews Funeral Home.

Linda was a 1969 graduate of Apache High School.

She worked at her father’s grocery store, Hodges Food Store.

She married Mark Ferrell on October 21, 1982, in Anadarko.

She operated a home daycare. She also worked for Woodward's Furniture Store.

She enjoyed going camping and playing cards. She was famous for her sugar cookies with pink icing and also loved to cook.

She loved her family dearly, especially her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband, Mark; daughters: Christi and husband Scott Franklin of Apache, Misty and husband Bobby Lamont of Lawton; grandchildren: Preslea Franklin, McCartney Franklin, Merik Lamont, Dayson Lamont; brother, Jeff and wife Beckey Hodges of Elgin; nieces: Melissa and husband Jay Hunt, Sarah Hodges, Malina Bentley, Ashley and husband Beau Waltrip, Andi Ferrell; and nephews: Kenny and wife Laura Gilliam, Toby and wife Ashley Ferrell, Jory and wife Joy Ferrell, Ryan and wife Gabrielle Nightingale, Chad and wife Andrea Nightingale, Jason and wife Tara Price, Jarrod and wife Noelle Price, Josh and wife Jenny Price, and Justin and wife Calene Price.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Twila Hodges; and sister, Sandy Gilliam.
