Apache Services Are Held For Caddo Pioneer

APACHE--A protracted illness proved fatal last Thursday for Joseph A. Cowan, pioneer farmer and resident of this area. He had been ill since January, 1959. He died in a Fort Sill hospital.

Cowan was born at Decatur, Ind., December 13, 1870.

He and a brother came to this country in 1901 and homesteaded a farm northeast of Apache.

He retired from farming several years ago and for a time lived in Apache.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bertha Robinson, Amarillo; several nieces and nephews, Frank Cowan, Fort Worth, Raymond Cowan, Lawton, and Mrs. Frank Holdern.
