© Anadarko Daily News Anadarko, Oklahoma July 1938 1877 ~ July 20, 1938 Final Rites For Mrs. Frank Colbert Eliza Florence Jackson was born at Oliney, Illinois April 22, 1877, and passed away at the family home 13 miles southwest of Ft. Cobb July 10, 1938 after an illness of four months. She was married to Frank Colbert at Oakland, Illinois March 18, 1894, and to this union two children born. Mr. and Mrs. Colbert came to Oklahoma in 1901, locating at Nash, where they resided until 1922 when they came to Caddo county and located on the homestead where they have since made their home. Mrs. Colbert was a pioneer wife in Oklahoma, experiencing the hardships and success of her family, neighbors and friends. She was a lovable character and held the high esteem of all who knew her. She united with the Methodist church when a small girl and was a member of that church at the time of her death. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and two daughters. Miss Beatrice Colbert of Shawnee and Mrs. Roberta Harcourt of Okmulgee; on sister, Mrs. Henry Mills of Illinois; three brothers, Fred and Charles Jackson of Nash and Orse Jackson of Oakland, ill. Funeral services were held at the Christian church at Apache by R.E. Harvey Wednesday afternoon where a quartet from the Alden community rendered the music and her neighbors acted as pall bearers. Interment was in the Apache cemetery with arrangement in charge of the Harvey Funeral Home, Ft. Cobb.--Anadarko Daily News. |
