The first four kids were born in Kansas and the last five were born in Comanche Co., Oklahoma Alyse married Orville Boydstun, 7 May 1941 in Apache, Caddo Co. OK. Funeral services for Alyse Bernice Boydstun, 81 were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996 at the First United Methodist Church of Apache with the Rev. Craig Denslow officiating and the Rev. Johnny DeYong, pastor, assisting. Mrs. Boydstun died April 13, 1996 in Lawton. She was born July 21, 1912 in Winfield. Kansas and moved to Oklahoma in a covered wagon with her parents. She married Orville R. Boydstun on May 21, 1941 in Apache. She began teaching school in 1932 in a one-room school house. Mrs. Boydstun taught at Stony Point, Doyle, Mt. View, Elgin, and Apache. She retired in 1977 from Apache Public School system. She was a member of the Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, Apache Quilting Club, and First United Methodist Church of Anadarko. She is survived by her husband, Orville, of the home and many nieces and nephews. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. |

Wayne Shaw officiating and assisted by the Rev. Lee Hughes. He died January 18. 1996 in Tulsa. Boydstun was born August 9, 1916 at Lexington, Oklahoma and moved to Apache at age 11 with his parents. He married Loyce Everce Nunn on February 3. 1940 in Purcell. He farmed in the Apache area and was also an ironworker until he retired in 1979. The Boydstuns moved to Broken Arrow in 1987. He was a member of the Cedar Ridge Christian Church in Broken Arrow and was a member of the Ironworkers Union Local #48 in Oklahoma City. Survivors include his wife, Loyce, of the home; one daughter, Carol Thompson of Tulsa; one son, Michael E. Boydstun of Broken Arrow; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Orville of Lawton, Harold of Kansas City, Olen and Cecil, both of Apache, and Harvey of Midwest City, and one sister, Billie Reiss, of Anadarko. He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Donald, and one great-grandson. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. |

Rick Fennel officiating. Mr. Boydstun died Friday, May 2, 2008, in Bedford, Texas. Services are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. He was born on Jan. 18, 1920, in Lexington to William and Emma Holmcomb Boydstun. He married Lonny Aldridge on Nov. 10, 1940. He was a member of the Christian Church. He worked for civil service at Fort Sill until his retirement in 1982. He later married Juanita Huckleberry. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Lynda and Tracey Stogner, Tropy Club, Texas; five grandchildren: Dennis Boydstun, Kenneth Boydstun, Anthony Stogner, Bradley Stogner and Susan Stogner DeCourcy; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Olen Boydstun, Apache and Harvey Boydstun, Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law and her husband: Doris and Edgar Rice, Madill and a niece and her husband: Margaret and Martin McCay, Cyril. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Boydstun and seven siblings. |

He moved to Apache in 1935 in a wagon and truck. He attended Doyle and Apache Schools. He delivered mail in Ft. Sill and helped his dad farm. He married Irma Jean Johnson on September 20, 1946 in Windfield, KS. They made their home in Apache, OK where he continued to farm, worked at Dolese, and did ironworking. Then he managed Apache Propane until retirement. He kept farming and enjoyed checking his cattle. Olen was a faithful member of the First Christian Church. He enjoyed playing dominoes. He passed away in his home with his family surrounding him. He loved his family. © Crews Funeral Home Apache, Caddo CO, Oklahoma March 14, 2017 November 28, 1928 ~ March 14, 2017 Irma Jean Boydstun of Apache, Oklahoma was born November 28, 1928 in Lawton, OK to Clay Walter and Rachel Ann [Loflin] Johnson. She passed away March 14th in Lawton at the age of 88. Jean moved to Apache with her family in 1942 and graduated from Apache High School. She married Olen Louis Boydstun on September 20, 1946 in Winfield, KS. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2012. Jean dedicated her life to her family and community. She worked hard in the home and on their farm. She attended all of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and ball games. She was very proud of her family, and loved them all greatly. Jean was a faithful member of the First Christian Church where she served in many capacities. She taught Sunday school and was Sunday School Superintendent. She served on several committees and could be found working in the kitchen for many funeral dinners, wedding and baby showers and other dinners at the church. She also was a member of the Mary Martha Bible Study Group . Community was very important to Jean. She belonged to the Boone Extension Homemakers, the Stitch In Time sewing club, and the Farmerette Club. If there was something going on where she could volunteer her energy, she would do it. She was a Superintendent of Exhibits for the Apache Fair, she helped with the Mo’ Betta events, and made her famous fried pies and other desserts for the Apache Sale Barn every week. Jean belonged to the Git R Done Ladies, and was proud to have their accomplishments recognized on the state level. She also spent time in Anadarko, volunteering at the Women's Crisis Center. The Apache Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture recognized her community service twice, once honoring her with Woman of the Year and then naming her an Apache Town Treasure. This is only a small part of how Jean served her beloved Apache community. Jean’s dedication to her church, her family and her town will be greatly missed and never replaced. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma January 27, 2014 March 31, 1934 ~ January 27, 2014 Funeral service for Joe Boydston, 79, of Apache will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at the Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Apache under the direction of Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Boydston passed away on January 28, 2014 in Oklahoma City. He was 79 years old. Joe Melton Boydston was born March 31, 1934 in Bray, Oklahoma to Jay and Verna [Wilkes] Boydston. He attended Foster High School. Joe served his country in the United States Army for 6 years. After being honorably discharged, Joe worked for the Duncan Fire Department for 21 years when he retired in April of 1976. Joe married Sue Collier on December 26, 1982. The two had been married for 31 years. Joe was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Apache where he was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a Shriner. He attended the Duncan Baptist Church. Joe enjoyed life after retirement. He liked to play dominos, go to the casino, spending time with his family, and telling stories. Joe was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Sue Boydston, of the home; 5 sons: Jay Boydston and his wife Lori of Duncan, Stanley Boydston of Duncan, Harlan Smith and his wife Theresa of Grove, Kenny Bennefield of OR, and James Lukehart and his wife Cynthia of Edmond; 1 daughter, Jackie Wright of Lawton; 3 sisters: Sue Vallines, Rayleen Riddles, and Jayleen Gahaler; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents: Jay and Verna Boydston; 1 daughter, Lois Ann Boydston; 1 son, Donald "Luke" Lukehart; 2 brothers: Don and Ron Boydston; and 1 sister, Virginia Hill. |

He was a member of the Christian church. Services were held at 4 p.m. Monday in the Apache Christian church with Rev. J. Lee Scott, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery. She passed away at her home on May 25th at the age of 62. Sue worked at the Oklahoma Blood Institute for many years as a secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing home decorating crafts and she collected antiques. Sue spent time observing nature outdoors, and especially loved the mountains. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cashe, Oklahoma January 17, 2022 November 21, 1955 ~ January 17, 2022 Ronald "Ronnie" Lee Boydstun of Cache was born November 21, 1955 in Lawton to Johnnie and Paula Valaska [Hrbacek] Boydstun. He passed away in his home on January 17, 2022 at the age of 66. Ronnie graduated from Cyril High School in 1975. He married Sandra Schultz in May 1976. They had two children from this union. He joined the United States Army in 1979 and served for six years. He loved restoring antique cars and was widely known for his sheet metal work. was an avid Hot Wheels collector. He loved children and never met a stranger. In January of 2000, he met the love of his life, Debby Campbell. He loved her with everything he had and considered it a blessing to be able to take care of her. Ronnie member of the Wichita Baptist Church of Cache. Preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Emma [Boydstun] Hearn and one brother-in-law-Christopher Hearn.
