Apache, Oklahoma June 2012 August 25, 1954 ~ June 30, 2012 Rhonda Carol Barney of Dallas, Texas was born August 25, 1954 in Olney, Texas to L.J. "Slim" and Laverna June [Hunt] Elledge. She died in an accident on June 30th in Denton, Texas. Rhonda accomplished many things in her life. She was the first woman to hold a management position in human resources in Oklahoma during the ‘70's. She was a member of the Society for Human Resource Management Business Association. Throughout her career, she achieved many honors and awards. Most recently, her proudest achievement was receiving her Master's in Business Administration through Ashford University. She was currently the Human Resources Director for LabCorp. Rhonda was also a breast cancer survivor. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She especially loved being "Meme" to her grandchildren. She is survived by: Her father, L.J. "Slim" Elledge Oklahoma City, OK; 1 son, Brad Claborn Dallas, TX; 1 daughter, Crystal Barney Carrollton, TX; 2 grandchildren- Dakota Antonson, Savannah Foster; 1 sister, Hope Elledge Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother, Laverna Bunch. Services will be held Friday, July 6th at 2:00 P.M. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Apache with Reverend Jack Cloyd, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home. |
