Betty Ruth [Aldridge] Austin
July 2, 1929 ~ December 20, 2018


Betty Ruth Austin, 89, of Apache, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Lawton, Betty was born July 22, 1929, in rural Apache. She was the eighth of nine children born to M. Clyde and Myrtle Aldridge.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Caleb McDowell officiating and Rev. Bud Jones assisting. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Betty attended Broxton schools.

She married Lawrence Alvie Austin on May 15, 1948, in Apache.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and reading her cookbooks. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Betty gave her heart to the Lord many years ago, setting an example for us to follow. This world has lost a true prayer warrior. She faithfully attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Apache until her health declined.

Survivors include her children: Mick and Doris Austin, Michael and Carla Austin, Carolyn Jane and Greg Featherston, Les Austin, Janet and Greg Stallings, and Lana and Charles Barnett, all of Apache; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Aldridge of Apache; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years; parents; four brothers, including her twin brother, Billy Joe Aldridge; and three sisters.

Carol Ray Austin
July 27, 1937 ~ January 18, 2017


APACHE: Carol Ray Austin, 79, Apache, was born July 27, 1937, southwest of Apache in Comanche County to Mick William and Bertha Myrle [McDaniel] Austin.

He passed away at his home in Apache on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry Glasgow officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Carol graduated from Apache High School in 1955.

He entered the Navy and trained as an aviation mechanic. After his honorable discharge from military service, he worked for Dolese Brothers from Sept. 8, 1964, until March 8, 1975.

On Jan. 24, 1975, he married Melva Jean Smith in Elgin. They purchased Elgin Feed & Grain in March of 1975 and operated it until March of 1986. In 1980, Elgin FFA made him an Honorary Chapter Farmer. Carol went to work for the Elgin Coop for a couple of years before going to work for Comanche County District 1 from September 1988 until his retirement in April 2001.

Carol also farmed all his life, and had continued to farm while working. He started a dairy business with his wife in 1988 and finally retired from it in March 2004.

After retiring from the dairy business, Carol and his wife moved to Apache, where he was a faithful member of First Baptist Church and attended the Sanctuary Class Sunday School.

He always grew a large garden, giving most of it away to fortunate church members and friends.

Above all, Carol was a family man. He loved all his family, and enjoyed reunions. He especially loved his daughter and his grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife, Jean, of the home; one daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Rex Kennedy, Elgin; seven grandchildren: Colleen and husband Aaron Perry; Wyatt Kennedy, Colten Kennedy, Amy Kennedy and fiancÈ Joey Ball; Ruthie Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy and Oren Kennedy; one brother and his wife, Forest and Patsy Austin, Apache; one sister, Anna Myrle Elliott, Tahlequah; and two sisters-in-law: Betty Austin and Rebecca Austin, both of Apache.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; four brothers: Melvin Austin, Lawrence Austin, Dale Austin and Tommy Austin; and one sister, Zelma Lou Austin.

Tommy Lynn Austin

Tommy L. Austin of Apache, Oklahoma was born September 22, 1945 southwest of Apache, OK in Comanche County to Mick William and Bertha Myrle [McDaniel] Austin. He passed away July 12th in Anadarko, OK.

Tommy joined the Army in 1965. He married Linda Roberts. Two children were born to this union. After his discharge from service in 1971, he worked in Civil Service, for Dolese Brothers and for a grocery before taking up farming..

He loved country music and learned to play the guitar. He has been with Rebecca Austin since 1993, they married May 19, 2000 in Anadarko..

Tommy is survived by: his wife, Rebecca, of the home; 2 sons - Tom Wade and Lesley Austin Apache, OK, Chad William and Lisa Austin Apache, OK; 1 step-son - Robert Joseph and Crystal Vickrey Miami, OK; 1 step-daughter - Laura LyvonneVickrey Lawton, OK; 5 grandchildren - Cheyenne Austin and Hope Austin New Braunfels, TX, Carli Watson Lawton, OK, Alexandria Vickrey and Elizabeth Vickrey Miami, OK; 2 brothers - Carol Ray and Jean Austin Apache, OK, Forest Edward and Patsy Austin Apache, OK; 1 sister - Anna Myrle Elliott Tahlequah, OK; 2 sisters-in-law - Edith Austin Fletcher, OK, Betty Austin Apache, OK.

He was preceded in death by - His parents; 3 brothers - Melvin Leon Austin, Lawrence Alvie Austin, Dale Vernon Austin; 1 sister - Zelma Lou Austin..

Services for Tommy will be held Wednesday, July 15th at 11:00 A.M. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Bud Jones officiating. Services are under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
