Lawton, Oklahoma December 5, 1948 September 1, 1878 ~ December 3, 1948 Rites Set Today For Mrs Ahlke Mrs William Ahlke, 80, Anadarko, former resident of Apache, died at 1 p.m. Friday at an Anadarko hospital following an extended illness. Born Mattie Saxon on September 1, 1879, in Tennessee, Mrs Ahlke was a longtime Apache resident. Survivors include her husband, six sons by a former marriage, Lonnie Gill, Haworth: Alva and Albert Gill, Apache; Roy Gill, of Broken Bow; and Rex and Reuben, address unknown; four brothers, Henry Saxon, Oklahoma City; Bill and John Saxon, Broken Bow; and Mark Saxon, Sapulpa, Okla. Services will be held in the First Christian church at 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev Paul Fullerton, supply pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Apache. Lawton, Oklahoma December 7, 1948 September 1, 1878 ~ December 3, 1948 Rites Conducted For Mrs Ahlke, Pioneer Resident Special Rites for Mrs William Ahlke, 70, former early day Apache resident, were conducted Sunday here in the First Christian Church by Paul Fullerton, Enid supply pastor. Mrs Ahlke died Friday in Anadarko, where she and her husband had been living about a year. Mrs C. G. O'Co nnor, Miss Vera Dean McMahan and Claude Malone sang several selections, with Miss Janice Elliott as accompanist. Burial in the Apache cemetery was directed by the Smith Funeral Home. Bearers were Floyd Moore, L. L. Dunlop, Dale Simmons, John Griffith, C. M. Warner and George Levite. |
