PFC Eldon Reynolds

Pfc. eldon Reynolds, was a 1968 graduate of Lookeba-Sickles high school who was killed in action in Vietnam July 14.

Parents of the war victim, are Mr. and Mrs. Charnel Reynolds of Eakly. Burial will be at the Eakly cemetery.

Young Reynolds was killed when Viet Cong overran his base camp near the demilitarized zone. A machine gunner, he had been in Vietnam only a month. He was assigned to a unit of the First Infantry, 11th Division.

He entered the service January 13 of this year and arrived in Vietnam June 21. His wife, Donita, lives at Weatherford.

Young Reynolds was the first Eakly casualty out of over 800 Oklahomans who have been killed in Vietnam during the last six and one-half years.

He had attended the Eakly schools until his senior year when he enrolled at Lookeba-Sickles to take a special mechanics course offered there.

Survivors include, in addition to his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charnel Reynolds of Eakly; four sisters, Mrs. J.B. Lindsey, Carnegie; Mrs. Guy Wayne Lindsey, Spearman, Tex.; Mrs. Ralph Morgan, Eakly; and Mrs. Dean Wright, Hydro; two brothers, Dewayne Reyolds, Fritch, Tex.; and Ricky Reynolds, Eakly.
